Ben,

No unfortunately the will go to the same place as before and you shouldnt have more aircraft so because of your layout there must be some corruption.

My advice to unistall everything and re-install to C:\Airnav still stands but if it is working for you and you are happy thats the main thing.

I have uninstalled several times and no change . From what i have read on the forum I think I do not need to update the database as the ayto populate should do it for me . Am I correct . I am only interested in registrations and not the routes etc

Ben,

Autopopulate doesnt add new aircraft it only syncs ones that you see with the server database if there are differences.  If you see a new aircraft and it is in the database but not on your Navdata, the populate function will work and add the info into the Navdata.

Hello all, I've spent another day trying to get the airnav working properly but to no avail! I have tried all sorts of combinations and ended up with a complete reinstall from the forum link (v4 version I think) and then the new upgrade giving me 5.00.053 version. It works fine, all features OK but need to do preferences with layout etc. I've followed the instructions and suggestions within this forum but still cannot get this update to work.(I still have only 80170 aircraft) I understand its a pathing issue but don't seem to be able to move them, it all seems a lot more complicated on Windows 7 than my old XP. I have two airnavs listed when I click Start-All Programs-Airnav Systems and they are Airnav Radarbox and underneath Airnav Radarbox 2010 (ones v4 and the other the .053 upgrade I think but don't really know!) can anyone help with the correct procedure for this update please? I'm running Windows 7. A windows search for NavData.db3 brings up 5 candidates, they are two 19.7mb files (one in c:\users the other c:\program files(x86), one 68.6mb file with the airnav logo on it, one 18.5mb file (dated 2009 in c:\program files(x86) and one just called New Navdata.db3-20131013 no modified date or anything else on the last file. sorry for the long cry for help but I'm running out of options.

Andy,

Before you re-installed it would have been better to uninstall the previous versions as unfortunately you wil probalbhy have the two versions and the updated all mixed up with each other and as you installed to the virtual store that makes matters even more problamatic.

If you click on the link to start RB, to find out which version you are using if you look on the top line on the left of the screen it gives you the version number.

If you went through the update procedure today the Navdata.db3 file should be in the Radarbox\Data folder and if you look at the attached screenshot the file should be as per the top line of the shot.

As far as I have found (Windows Vista only, but I think Windows 7 and 8 are the same), if you select the install path as C:\Program Files\{program name} then it will automatically setup each user a folder in the virtual store where data is kept. The program itself is still running from the main folder, just data is kept for each individual user in the virtual store.
This is pretty annoying, so to avoid having data in the virtual store, select the install path or location to be 'C:\{program name}' and you will not have that problem. All data will be saved directly into the folder you installed it into, making it much easier to find and work with.

If you want to find the data in the virtual store (the names vary slightly between versions of windows I think, this is all from memory) go into C:\Users\{Your user name}\Application Data\{Airnav Radarbox}. Hopefully it will be there or along a similar path.

Hope that helps some...
Mike

Correct Mike.  To avoid problems with Windows Virtual Store you should avoid the program files location and install to some thing like c:\Airnav when asked by the program installer as has been detailed earlier.

unfortunately I cannot help with locating where Airnav will be in the virtual store as i didnt intall to there but what is stated sounds like it and if you use windows search you should find it assuming you have set to show hidden files in control panel.

Hello all, I have a fully updated and working Airnav, THANK YOU ALL. My totals are 3085 type and 239132 aircraft, don't know why these totals are different to other members but at least all seems well. just a couple of queries, on my previous version I had my home location on the map zoomed in that appeared every time I opened the Airnav. now it seems I have to zoom in each time from the full world map, how do I set it up as before? The other question relates to the password and registration at the opening up stage of the Airnav, it auto filled the boxes for me with ********* etc, surely it should ask for these with a new reinstall as I could be anyone? Thanks again to all who helped, a great job.

I have exactly the same problems as Andy although the map is easy to sort . I have same totals as him. We must both have the same computer skills

Andy,  Regarding your log in details, these are lodged in the registry of your computer and are not removed on unistalling so are available for future installs on that computer.

First image: open "MyLog" first time after database update. I do not know what "265" means.

Thanks for pointing that out Liviu.  I checked after downloading an update and it was OK on my one.  I would suggest that it was one off glitch that saw the Aircraft text not appearing but I will keep an eye on it.

not sure if this has been reported before but when I go into MyLog reporter and click to generate a Today's report the software goes into a not responding mode .  Eventually it returns but after a good minute.
