Graham,

Where the autoupdate on an aircraft is set to Y if you pick up that aircraft with you box and the local Navdata is different to the server data, the local Navdata will sync with the server contents.  If however you have the aircraft set to N as you have amended some part of the data on your local database and also have unticked Auto Update Manually Changed Records in Preferences/Radarbox, when the aircraft is picked up the sync with the server will not be carried out.

The database update works in a similar manner but instead of a single aircraft that your box has picked up, deals with the entire database or not again dependent on what your N and Do Not Update Manually Changed records preferences are set too

Hope that helps.

Alan

I'm not sure if the "N" under autoupdate in the d/b functions correctly. I've had one route marked not to update, but just found out it was updated automatically.

Had you set the other requirements for this as well Michel?

thanks Alan.  I think I will use autoupdate and see how it goes.  Maybe will update the whole db manually monthly.

Alan,

I think I missed something. Other requirements?

Michel.

Michel,

If it is a single route as well as ticking N, you also have to go to Preferences/Radarbox and untick Autopopulate Route Data.

I see. Autopopulate route data is ticked in preferences, so in that case there shouldn't be a problem.

Noticed this morning:
1. Select an aircraft (eg. YR-ATF) with 2 pictures in "MyFlights", shows both pictures
2. Select an aircraft (YR-SCD) with only 1 picture (in the database and in the photo folder), shows its photo and the second photo of the previous aircraft.

Thanks Liviu,

Added to your previous photo issue, I believe it is server related and not the software.

I've upgraded to the new 5.00.053 version but cannot apply the update, I go into database explorer and have around 80173 aircraft. I click start update and it goes through the process giving a total of 208082 aircraft, great. It now says restart application, I don't know how to do this other than closing with the top right red cross then restarting the radarbox via the desktop shortcut. When I do this it opens and all works fine thus the upgrade has worked. I check the File then Database Explorer and hey presto as before update 80173 again. What am I doing wrong? every one else has got 208000+ . I sent a request to the help dept and was asked am I running in admin? I don't know what Running in admin is! I've not changed any other settings on this windows 7 computer, all is as it was before the upgrade. HELP!

Never use the red cross.  Always close down using file/exit to save everything including your log and all will be well.

Alan.

Not sure if autopopulate is working on my box. I checked on starting my computer today (it has been on most days since the last update) and showed 208014. I have all the autopopulate boxes checked. I then did a manual update and the figure went to 208180.
I have contacted support as when I tried to uncheck then recheck the boxes I rcvd an error message which when I displayed showed my operating system as VISTA when my laptop on which RB is loaded is WIN7 and always has been.

Tommy,

The database when loaded with the update today only has 208049 records so I am at a loss how you were showing 208180 records in the aircraft table, there would seem to be a glitch somewhere.  Run the update again and see what you get.

Alan.

Have just updated again, but this time unchecking all boxes except aircraft, and the new figure is 208082, so I haven't a clue as to what is going on as I dont maintain my own database and just use what you guys (doing a grand job by the way) provide. I only use one picture and not two as well.
