I think it must have been, but that still raises the issue of how we know how many aircraft should be in the database. Will you guys or Airnav give us a monthly update as a check?

I've just retried to redo the update all goes well until time to restart the application, i'm definitely doing something wrong. done as suggested used file and close then restarted radarbox and old totals still there so don't know what else to try. spent most of today on this already! If I did a roll back with control panel would I get my old airnav 2009 with 2010 upgrade back? then carry on manual update and populating as I've done for 3 years! It must be simpler than that!

Hi Tommy, when the database updates started appearing regularly, I or someone else would post the number of rows downloaded in xxxms, this is now done routinely on the D/B update threads, whether that'll happen with automatic updates, I would have my doubts.
ANRB :  AOR AR8000 : Icom R-7000 : Icom IC-R9000 : JRC NRD-545 : OptoElectronics Digital Scout and OptoLinx Interface; Realistic Pro-2005 : UBC 800XLT - listed in alphabetical order, not cost, preference, performance or entertainment value!

Hi Jon.
That is my main concern, how do we the users know what is correct? You can see from Alan's and my conversation above that there were three different figures mentioned. Plus I am not so sure my autopopulate works even though everything else is fine. After a few hiccups, I think I am nearly there.
I know we all moan about Airnav with some reason, but in my job I am finding that there is a big lack of Quality Assurance in computer software, suffice to say I understand now why the B787 has had many issues.

I am having problems updating the database . I only have the number from the last online update . This goes into c:\Program Files(x86)\Airnav Systems\Airnav RadarBox\data
the new update goes into c:\Users\owner\AppData\Local\Virtual store\Airnav Systems\Airnav Radarbox\data

How do i get the updates to go to the original file . I have tried deleting the new updates and starting again but they still go into the new file . I cannot even find the virtual store on the system

I am not tooo technically minded so any remedies in easy to understand language would be much appreciated

Andy,

How many instances of Radarbox do you have on your computer with you mentioning 2009 with 2010 upgrade with v5.00.53 you must have at least 2 versions on the computer.  When you upgraded did you direct it to the correct path or did you just follow the default installation.  I would suggest that the update is going to the wrong version.  Use windows search to look for all instances of Navdata.db3 and noet where they are.  The newest one would appear to ne in the wrong version so move it to the correct one

If would however suggest saving your mylog, photos, etc that you want to keep and delete everything.  Then download and install the full V5.00.44 I think it is from the first upgrade post and install it to c:\ Airnav Systems\Radarboxand then upgrade to the latest version and everything should be OK.

Open up the windows with the 2 Navdata.db3 files, identify the correct one and drag it across to the correct folder and replace the one thatt is there.

Tommy,

I ran the updater and it shows the same as you 208,082, I thought I had updated this morning but it would appear that I hadnt.  I think it is possible that I ran it but hadnt closed down and restarted.

Sorry for giving you a scare and causing confusion,

Regarding Autoupdate, this process doesnt add aircraft to your database it will only sync the details of an aircraft that you already have in your local database with the contents of the server if there are any differences when you pick it up with your receiver.

Hi Ben,

Seeing as you are not to technically minded could I suggest that you uninstall and then reinstall to c:\Airnav\

Hi Alan, I have done as you said and it is still doing the same . It creates 3  navdata.db files , one normal one pending and one with the date . I have moved them over to the old navdata.db file and now i have 239059 aircraft entries, I am at a loss now

Hi Ben,

Please find attached a shot of my data folder.  The file you should be looking for is the top one Navdata.db3 without a date attached and with the date modified of 07/11/2013.

The ones with the date are the ones downloaded from the server and the last 10 are downloaded are stored there.  The processing is done in the temp and when processed become the db.3 file that is used.

Hi Alan,
Have done that, still appear to have more aircraft than i should, but it cant be a bad thing. Will all future updates go to the correct destination now

Ben
