The're not moving very fast, that's for sure :-) - I was going to do the screenshot at Manchester, but overflying aircraft got in the way.

Do I take it from your question that you're not seeing the same thing, Tarbat?

I have seen this a couple of times at EGNX they are always network aircraft that have not timed out. If I switch network off/on they disappear.

I don't use the network much, so no, I haven't seen this.  They look like approach speeds, so maybe aircraft transmitting inaccurate positions, and then timing-out on the local users RB.

Nope, they aren't timed out, and stopping/restarting the network doesn't work for me - they are almost certainly "live" contacts - and I saw it happen live on MyFlights with a Jet2 B733 at Blackpool an hour or so ago.

EDIT And anyway, most of the aircraft would have stalled flying at those speeds at those altitudes!

Hi all

Re Rod's issue, I noticed this yesterday. I had a few aircraft showing over Aldergrove but they had heights speeds inconsistent with an approach? They were or appeared to be live contacts not network. However having used zoom to clear a couple of trail only aircraft these others disappeared?? Related issue perhaps?

Malc - I don't think it can be a wrong QFE or QNH - I had 1028 set, it's currently 1027 at EGLL - and anyway, the aircraft are showing very different altitudes from each other. Are you not getting this problem?

but after a quick view it looks better.

Hi All,

I have to take back that.

My 24h SQL-report based on "MyLOG.db3" of yesterday gives a total of started flights in my area of reception of 6446. Very distorted I think. There are very much duplicated flights in this report (some flights even more than that).

Would be interesting to see your log John.  Are the duplicates for aircraft showing FlightIDs, or for aircraft without FlightIDs?

I've just checked my report for today so far, and even with a timeout of 10 minutes, I'm seeing very few duplicates.

Just switched on the network flights and I have TCX211L at FL295 over EGNX going absolutley nowhere and it is shown as networked and in the cruise.

There seems to be a little gremlin in reporter today. See Attatched Screenshot:-(

Are you referring to 4007FF?  If so, then the aircraft set FlightID JCB2 at 8:01:34, change to a different FlightID BCY158C at 08:18:14, and then changed back to JCB2 at 08:18:17.  It then probably went out of range, and re-appeared after timeout as FlightID JCB2 at 08:27:39.

Looks correct to me.  Although the BCY158C flightID looks a bit strange, so may have been a false reception.  EDIT: In fact BCY158C was being used by 4007FD, so a false reception ( http://www.live-civil-mode-s.eu/search/popup.php?zoekstring=4007FD ).

What are your timeout settings?

Hi Tarbat,

Timeout set at 110/780 as per your previous suggestion. I just thought it very strange for JCB to be showing Cityjet callsign and route info. It seems strange the hex codes are so close as well for the aircraft involved.

Just switched on the network flights and I have TCX211L at FL295 over EGNX going absolutley nowhere and it is shown as networked and in the cruise.

This will happen if the local Radarbox receiving the aircraft has a long timeout setting.  This happened in v2.0 as well - I reported many months ago aircraft "hovering" at Aberdeen, and established that the local Radarbox had very long timeouts set.

Airnav, this really needs fixing.  The local timeout settings shouldn't affect how long an aircraft is shared on the network.

I just thought it very strange for JCB to be showing Cityjet callsign and route info. It seems strange the hex codes are so close as well for the aircraft involved.

Difference between the ModeS codes (4007FF & 4007FD) is just 1 bit - so probably a transmission/reception error.

Thanks Tarbat, I have never noticed this before but like you don't use the network that often.

TCX613L was tracked by Myflights landing at EGNX 10 mins ago and it is now showing networked at FL265 over EGNX.

I think I will switch the network off again :-)
