Program is crashing
« on: April 17, 2012, 05:35:31 PM »
Relatively new computer running Windows 7 64-bit.  Everything was working fine for over a month.  Now it crashes.  Just now it crashed again almost immediately after restarting it.

No issues on my old Windows XP system.  I've also tried a couple versions of the program with same result.

I get this error each time.

I've determined that it's caused any time I connect or disconnect some USB storage devices, insert an SD card, or connect an HDMI cable or change the TV input while the HDMI cable is connected.

Can you connect or disconnect some USB storage devices, insert an SD card, or connect an HDMI cable or change the TV input while the HDMI cable is connected while not running RadarBox s/w ?

Hi

There are some problems with TV cards. I am running windows XP on a packard-bell with built in TV card.

If I try to open my media player with the radarbox usb connected my computer immediatly freezes.

It is no big deal since I think radarbox is terrific but I have not been able to watch TV on the computer since I connected radarbox.

If I disconnect the rb usb then all is fine.

Hi Keith, I'm no computer expert but I would think your problem is too many demands on video card memory.   I do know on my old desktop that up-grading from 500Mb memory video card to 2Gb solved a lot of my glitches and hang-ups.

John, would a bigger memory solve my hang-ups?  ;-))
Thanks,  Dave.

The program works for me without crashing when I run it in XP compatibility mode.  Only now I see the program is somehow populating MyLog with a bunch of BS data not from my NavData file.

I have been having the same problems airnav said I needed a better faster laptop
I had  a Dell studio 1555

So I brought a Top of the range Dell XPS17 (702lx) with spec below

Intel i7-2630QM CPU 4 dual core with 2 threads each
16GB Ram
3GB nvidia GeForce GT555M 3D Video card
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
17inch 3D screen

and guess what I still have the same problems

I need to shut down airnav 10 to 15 times just to get aircraft to show up in 3D most of the time they come up in gray anyway.  Then when its working the program freeze's

Yet they still say I needed to run the program on the basic mode setting,  I brought the 3d version to show up in max mode

DELL XPS 17 (L702X)
Intel i7-2820QM 2.3ghz Quad
8GB, DDR3, 1333MHz 2
3GB NVidia GeForce GT 555M
Windows 7 Home Premium x64

So much for XP compatibility mode.  Last night it crashed when I switched my TV input from the HDMI back to cable.
