Air Traffic Control!

Duh! I know that, I was referring to the earlier posting. I thought it was some kind of software ?

Negative. I use PlanePlotter for remote aircraft. It's free after one-off payment and I can see and track mode-s aircraft too.

I think AirNav need to look at buying PlanePlotter and incorporating all their nifty features into RadarBox.

Who knows, maybe AirNav will become the next Microsoft :)

My subscription expired a few months ago and I didn't renew it, basically because I am only interested in aircraft I can see. I might renew it in the future.Airnav is still tops for me.

Is that something you would wish on your worst enemy?

Yes, it's real-time Network data for me.  Finally, after waiting over 3 years having purchased an SBS-1 on the promise of their MapModeS network that never appeared, I have exactly what I need with the RadarBox real-time network.  I used the 5-minute delay all the time, but found the delay very frustrating.

Yeah Laddie, and I bet you get it free for all the "work" you do for your masters :-)

You buy the box and accessories, you need a computer to run it, you need power to run the computer, you need internet access for the network, your bandwidth usage increases dramatically if you upload to Airnav's servers, Airnav then sells your uploaded data on, by now you have paid a small fortune for the privilege of giving your data away and you are then expected, if you want it, to pay to use the network.......

Seems to me that if you share, you should get something back.

Really not worth the extra expense to me, plus I also subscribe to the point of view expressed by Hamish (above).

Maybe policies, opinions (and prices) may be reviewed in the fullness of time.

I've just renewed for a year of delayed network access - I find the network very useful for knowing what's out there (shame it only gives us non-ADS-B aircraft) and I'm not really bothered about a 5-minute delay re the position of an aircraft on the other side of the world.

Not interested in a live network. As several have said before, I am only interested in what I can physically see and therefore log not something hundreds or thousands of miles away. If it can't be actually seen, it can't be logged as far as I am concerned. 5 minute network delay is fine for reference purposes so that'll do for me.
