Maybe someone can enlighten me, I don't understand where all these extra fix points have come from in 3.0 Beta and why they are necessary.

I think it has been mentioned somewhere in this thread by Airnav but it is getting so long I cannot find it.

It's probably just a bulk import from a nav aid database.  I don't tend to have the fixes, VOR's or NDB's selected on.  I also switch the airports off unless I'm zoomed right in to watch the approaches and departures.  I don't "need" all these fixes, but there certainly do seem to be an awful lot of them.

vruma,

Thanks we are aware of those. The sluggish response with all the fixes is normal :) as there is soo many that it has trouble. A few customers and Professional customers really wanted this.

We will discuss whether there is ways to limit them internally.

Andy, here is the post.

A small point concerning zooming. Zooming the map in and out with the + or - keys, mouse wheel or right-click menu isn't consistent. One step of zooming in followed by one step of zooming out doesn't put the map back where it was but zooms out one extra step.

One step of zooming out = two steps of zooming in.   I quite like it like that, since you can zoom out quickly, and then slowly zoom into the area you're interested in.

I have also noticed another "feature" in that if you move the mouse over different parts of the map, the local time shown in the bottom left hand corner changes e.g. putting the mouse over the sea puts the displayed time back one hour.
Not sure if this is normal behaviour

Suppport - to add to the low list - the Wander Weather toolbar has a side-effect - the last line of the grid can't display properly when the Weather toolbar is up alongside the menu, so I lose a line:

This is a wierd one;

On the map display i keep losing the plane symbol and info from any new planes coming on to the display particuarly fom the bottom of the screen going north. If it weren't for the trails I wouldn't know they were there.

However if i zoom in or out the plane symbol and info appear no problem!

Keep up the good work airnav.

Simon

Looks like a similar problem to what I have experienced and posted earlier. I have seen this in the closed beta and the open one. I guess others are missing this because the aircraft are not there unless you zoom in/out. They do appear in the aircraft list but not the map so it looks like a map redraw issue.

UPDATE

After posting this I looked at my map and no aircraft were visible just a few odd trails, zooming in/out and 8 aircraft popped out of nowhere.

I have had the new version running all day, even though it has been totally overcast here in Chelmsford and nothing has been seen visually. That said, I have noticed like many others that floghts disappear and only return when I zoom in or out. Is this being looked into AirNav?

Nigel, do you also see trails with no aircraft at the end of the trail?

Okay, it is like the aircraft have timed out but in reality they are there when a map refresh is performed.
