V3.01 Beta - Released to the Public
« on: July 23, 2009, 12:11:40 PM »
Just to thanks you all for the always superb support received on this board.
Without you it wouldn't be impossible to release this new version. It is very hard to a software released and working at 100% for over 3000 users but it is something we want to accomplish.

Now it's time to follow the discussion on our open board and to see what is the feedback from the general public.

One more time thank you!

I don't particularly want to air this on the main forum, but my network grid is worse than ever - not only is it jumping around as before, but now the number of flights is going mad - sometimes it's showing 700+ flights, then suddenly it will drop to 3, or 400, or 60, and then back to 700+ again. Occasionally it goes blank for a few seconds as I think has been mentioned here before.

Generally the flights still show on the map, but occasionally they disappear along with the grid.

Nobody in the main forum has mentioned this, so, paranoid as ever, I'm worried that it's just me!

Rod,

I'm seeing a similar problem.  Network flights just went from 830+ down to 74, stayed like that for a few seconds, then went to 700+, and now shows only 21.

I wonder if there's something in the network timeout settings that causes this?

EDIT:  This jumping around of numbers only seems to happen if I take the focus away from the ANRB window.

Tarbat - isn't it odd that no-one on the main forum has reported it.

I wonder if we should download the full version rather than using just the new EXE?

Give them time!!!   Yes, I just used the EXE, but I'm reluctant to download the full version.

Rod, what are your network timeout settings?

I've changed to 160/20, and haven't seen the problem since.

EDIT: Spoke too soon.  Even with these timeout settings, network flights just dropped to 5.

Yes, definitely happening here too.  Selected Get Flights From Network and the count went 680 5 15 650 752 so something not quite right there.  My Network timeouts are 90/180.

I didn't see any such problem with any of the Beta exe files.

Now seems to have settled in the 680's but I'll keep an eye on it.

I have the same issue with the network total dropping away, I assumed it was the server.

It may be the server, we are taking a look.

I have noticed the network flights are lower than usual, circa 600 - 700 flights, the network is usually around 1100-1400.

Looks like there is a network issue currently, but the above is seemingly a different issue?

I am using the version posted in http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=3117.0
Post 5

Time out on network is 110/180, which is usually fine

CAM - I think you should be using the version on the public forum now.

As to the network flights, AirNav have said that the number will be lower now because they're using a shorter timeout on the server to stop clutter from old flights that used not to go away.

I hope that the current dramatic jumps in network flight numbers (from 700 to 3, for example) are just a server blip, not directly caused by the new release.

The Network looks a bit more stable now, with the numbers between 460 and 490.

Hi Everyone,

I'm noticing this too.  Network flight numbers jump up and down even between updating.  It's almost like a time lag effect.

I just used the latest exe as well.  No full download.

The reason for this is easy to explain: network flight position expires if not updated within 30 seconds. Data is downloaded form the network in 30 seconds too. So if there is a delay on an internet data download, lat/longs will be cleared and as the network grid (as per a request received here) only shows flights with lat/long...

In resume we will change the timeout to 60 secs instead of 30.

I'm still having problems with the Network total jumping from approx 700 to as little as 5 - just dropped to 33 as I type this - now back up to 758.
