hi just lossed all network traffic, is the network down?
dave-c
-
The forum disappeared for a few minutes a little while ago.
May be related?
-
My network down also...
-
Investigating now.
-
Having same probs as you guys. When accessing user account info, I get the following message....
'Unhandled Exception: Host 'C6604-126223' is blocked because of many connection errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts' '
-
Comforting to know it is not just me same message on mine.
-
same here too!!
-
Up again. We are checking if the same problem happens again.

Up again. We are checking if the same problem happens again.
It has. My netwok is still down and its showing that I can only get the 5 minuted delayed network flights. I am subscribed to live network.. shut down ANRB a few times and restarted my computer twice. Still showing 5-minute delyed and no network flights at all. Oh now I ge the box in network telling me to subscribe to real-time network.
-
Still down at 1336.
Same with me. Also takes 10 secs for MyFlights to show.

Got this message when checking my network account info in the browser:
Unhandled Exception: Host 'C6604-126223' is blocked because of many connection errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'
-
still the same,
network 30secs to update , nothing happening
-
We are lookign at it.
-
has the network gone again
-
I appear to have the Network back now and showing real-time
-
spoke too soon - gone again
-
We are working on it. Could be up and down during the next 2 to3 hours (but we hope not).
-
Still down for me.
-
We are making some changes to the server so the network might become unstable during the next few hours. Our apologies for this.
-
Lost my network again, airnav live flight tracker been hit & miss today as well
-
While it's a bit annoying when this sort of thing happens, it's the sort of thing that does occur occasionally in the world of networking.
Just chill out a bit folks and wait for the packets to start flowing again :)
-
I'm able to connect to the network after starting up but then it drops out ,also the update rate is at 30 seconds not 20 secs.
-
Althought the outage problem will be less frequent we will, during this week, develop a new solution so the server performs better in extreme conditions. Until then it is possible for the network to have some small outages. We do apologize for this and will do our best to expedite this work.
-
Last night, I was thinking that there was a problem with my account with online flights delayed by 5 mins.
This morning, there are no network flights showing.
-
Network down here too. Also, any word of a new driver for 64 bit Vista?
-
Also down here......Washington DC area
-
The network is and will be very unstable during the next 48 hours while we perform checks to try to correct the problems our central server is having.
-
I have lost network and my radarbox is not receiving local signals, anybody else lost local signal (hardware) procesing
-
untick and tick "process hardware flights"
-
i wish it was as simple, have tried it on second pc and different antenna now and no joy, could be a hardware failure have sent a mail to company. (network is back)
-
I have a similar problem to speedbird. I am receiving signals (white light flashing on the box) and aircraft are listed on My Flights but no idents showing on the screen. All aircraft are listed in Mylog. I am assuming it is a network problem.
Shame it is happening today as the Mother-in-Law is coming into Bristol from Toulouse this afternoon and I was hoping to track her flight.
Is is a network problem?
-
Lack of Network should make no difference to the aircraft picked up by your antenna. Do you have any map filters in? What happens when you click the 'Show All' button just below the 'Locate' button?
Are the aircraft in MyFlights showing the Globe symbol in the Tracing columb - to the left of Mode S (if you have Tracking set to show in Preferences>General
The Network is down for me at present, but I still have 19 aircraft in MyFlights and 15 of those are giving position information and are showing on the map.
-
With the network being down or very intermitent (more off than on), and possibly like this for the next 24 hours or more, all the users that have paid for the live network or 5min delayed coverage, will they be being credited the extra days lost due to the outages? For me, I only subscribe every so often (when funds permit), so Im rather annoyed at the loss of nearly 2 days or more of coverage.
Not sure if anyone else thinks or feels the same way?
-
I didn't get any money back from BT when my phone line was down for 3 days last week!
-
I suggest you go to the BT forum and sort that one out. Its nothing to do with Airnav. Customers should be given credit when the service they pay for is not being provided. I expect Airnav to do that, otherwise they will have some unhappy customers who won't return or purchase other products off them due to such poor service. By the way, I did manage to get credit from a phone company when my line went down for 2 days so I suggest being a little more forceful with them...or change companies!
-
Good to know I can stop rebooting the PC. Central part of California 1800 GMT 11-07-09 still off line.
-
I didn't get any money back
I didn't get any answer back on an asked question.....Must be verry bizzy overthere with not working network and several problems with the RB software....
-
It's back up! Thank you!!!
-
I have network back up but its refreshing at 30 sec intervals despite my subscription being for real time.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue or can AirNav offer an explanation please?
Thanks,
Dave

if you read back on this thread you will see that Airnav are experiencing server problems, one of the problems of the IT world these days. We need to be a little patient as they seem to be working hard to sort the problems out especially as it is over the weekend.
As I type the server is in and out so I wish them luck it finding a long term solution.

Everything is still not 100% yet, please accept our apologies we are working hard to get it sorted out.
There was some corruption in the database and its taking to time to get rid of this.
John,
If you have question please sent it direct the signatures, the forum is not a support forum. We monitor forum and try to reply to posts but its not guaranteed that we do. Our support system is much more suited to answering questions and track rather than the forum.

Many thanks Allocator. Sorry I could not reply earlier but had to go to the airport. I think it was just one of those days when I was not picking up a great deal and it was exaggerated by network being down.
The irony is that Airnav RB is so good that we all feel lost why it does not operate as well as we know it can. I think that is called life. We should not complain when things go wrong but praise when things go right.

Jeremy,
I had read through the posts & I do understand- I work in the wonderful world of software myself!
It was merely the fact that I had network back but at 30s refresh rather than 20s & seemingly not real time that I wanted to bring to AirNav's attention.
I also understand from the business I'm in that it can take time to fix, whatever day of the week it is!
Dave
-
Dave - I was only trying to help so please do not 'sit' on me! The fact you are well up in these things should point you towards the fact that the old network was a 30 sec refresh rate and it was only realtime that was 20 secs. So there are network troubles. I am sure Airnav will find a fix soon. I am chairman of company that works 24/7 so please do not lecture me either!
J.
-
I'm sorry you took it that way Jeremy, it wasn't intended as a lecture!
Dave
-
Sorry Dave. Got out of bed the wrong side this morning! I apologise. Have a good day.

Is anyone able to access "Network" flights at the moment - I can't, so assume it's currently down? Forum access also very slow.
-
It's been down for most of the day, apart from an hour or so earlier this afternoon when it jumped into life briefly.
It's being worked on so we can only wait.
-
Thanks, I had read above, but as I could access the Forum (albeit slowly), I wasn't certain if network was also down - same server?
-
hi
whats happening, reported that i had no network two days ago and still nothing??

Airnav are having some problems with their server(s) and are trying to reconfigure things so that they overcome them, it's likely it will take a little while to fix, perhaps another couple of days I think.
-
Work is still continuing on the server. We hope to have regular service restored as soon as possible.
-
I wish the server at my workplace would crash as often and for a long as it does around here.
Maybe Airnav could pass on some of thier server maintenance tips to my boss.
Life would be sweet! :)
-
Don't be horrid, MrT ;-)
I'm sure AirNav are doing their best. I feel totally bereft without the network - you'll have noticed how much I love it, and this is the longest outage that I remember.
I actually spent some time with the wife and the cat today, so it can't be that bad! Although apparently there's something called "housework" that one of them does that I should get involved with. Can't wait for the network to come back!

Work continues here almost H24...

Hi Rod,
Only joking!
I know these things do happen from time to time.
Sadly though, not often enough where I work. The server where I work is extremely and boringly reliable. (I work in a call centre).
Paul.

Just a check, is the network still down as I am getting nothing as at 10:17 local.
Mike
-
I think so. I have no Data since yesterday. ;-(

Nothing on my system either, so I assume still down. I appreciate they're doing all they can but I've never heard of such a long period of outage. I've been a customer for two months now and it's been one thing after another. I love the system but I wish it was reliable. :-(
-
I have been a customer since the Radar Box launch and this is the worst outage they have had. It must be pretty bad to take this long but we will have to bear with them as they do all they can to get it back :-)

:) Very funny.
We are working on it, even google and its gmail had a long down time recentely. When things go wrong, they sometimes go seriously wrong. We have all been there.
Rest assured we are doing our best and we thank you for your patience.
-
i connected approx: 1430 uk time.. no traffic showing and still as i type 16:24,
im pretty new to this does this happen regularly?
-
read the thread and you will find out
-
thanks for your help
-
Is it still down?
-
im pretty new to this does this happen regularly?
No, it's normally very reliable. Latest metrics, for September, showed an availability of over 99.5%

We would like to give a small update about the network problems: as we have noticed before we were having a problem with our site which required us to change the technology involved in processing our applications (not only RadarBox) requests.
The work is finished and deployed. It will only be tested at peak times (starting at 8 AM UTC). We will conitnue to monitor the server during the next few days.
Again thanks for your patience and understanding on this. We will always do our best to keep our customers satistied.

Up and running again!
-
It's still 5 AM in Europe. Let's wait for the peak time. If it works great, if not the work continues.

OK working for me now!! Phew!! thought my subscription ran out!!! thanks airnav for the great work!!
Best Wishes

Hi AN, good to know it's up and running again - fully sorted? or can we expect more down time for a few days?
What was the problem, I thinks a lot of us would like to know - catastrophic failure of HDDs or similar, some sort of malware, something that could potentially affect users?
-
We haven't given the full thumbs up yet, as we want to see how it copes with the load today.
Nothing to do with malware or anything like that.
It was caused by corruption in the database which then caused a few other server applications to be corrupted. Once the database was sorted out on Friday, it soon became apparent that the server applications couldn't cope with the load.
Lots of investigation work over the weekend before the corruption from the server apps were removed and new routines developed to stop this in the future.
-
the network was down because we are a victim of our own success!!!
But I am glad its back up I am running it with 3.08 beta version with no problems on vista 32bit dell studio 1555 laptop

All working AOK here in Bournemouth UK, good job people !!!
-
Everything working fine in Alfragide (Lisbon). Nice work Airnav Team.

Also in Cologne/Germany! Thanks and by the way, you make a fine Job!
-
It seems the situation is corrected and we are getting much better results in terms of processing times and CPU usage on our server. We usually got a 1 to 4 secs time to process network requests and now that time has been lowered to less than 0.5 secs as an average. We will continue the work "behind the scenes".
We will always keep you informed whenever we have news.
-
Hi AND and ANS, many thanks for the advice and explanation, I was just a bit concerned it could've been a malicious occurrence, now re-assured, also things seem to be running even faster, so was there a problem slowly building up to crisis point?
-
No, it was something to be kept an eye on but it wasn't building rapidly. The corruption accelerated the issue which is not something we could have predicted.
-
Thanks ANS for the prompt (as always) reply - but caused the corruption - physical failure in the gubbins, or electronically in data?
-
Electronically in data.
-
Thanks ANS.
-
Hi,
my network still down.
I'm using 3.08 beta on vista 32 bit.
Any one have an idea?
Thanks
-
Check your firewall settings for RadarBox 3.08.
-
I do not have firewall any more. Removed today
-
The Network is working fine for me using Beta V3.08.
-
Hi,
I remove my radar box and re install with the 3.07 and the network still down.
-
Hi,
work now.
ok!!
-
Could AirNav please provide an update on the current network status?
The remote server delivers more than network flights. Are the following all working OK now?
1. Photo downloads
2. Registrations
3. Routes
4. Alerts
5. Weather
Thanks.
-
They should all be up now, we are getting a few reports of photos & reg not working which we are looking at.
-
Thanks.
-
No still only getting one or in a lot of cases no photo at all
-
Photo download working OK here, albeit slowly.
-
Network not connected still showing red here, checked firewall ANRB has full access, any help appreciated.
Cheers.
-
Have you ticked the 'Get Flights From RadarBox Network' box next to the red/green indicator in the Network tab?
-
Getting most photos, some slow, some v.quick. Every now and then one just isn't downloading but I can still click it and get the image on airliners.net.
Everything seems ok.
Running v3.07
-
I'm presuming that there are still problems witht the Network as when I "populate" in "tools" in MyLog I usually find there are 15 to 20 Photo/Info Requests, whereas this afternoon there are 962!
I'm also finding that for some reason MyLog is dropping "Aircraft Name" and "Airline" details, despite them appearing on my Map Screen. I can't seem to find any solution to this, any ideas? Is it related to the Network issue?
-
Have you ticked the 'Get Flights From RadarBox Network' box next to the red/green indicator in the Network tab?
Cheers Allocator, it was as simple as that, I wonder why the box got deselected with this update, thanks again.
-
No problem - sometimes it is the simplest things that catch us all out :-)
