baffled
« on: July 21, 2009, 09:40:43 PM »
Sorry to trouble guys and girls but im slightly baffled about something. I believe that flights or some flights i8n my log dont always display in the map area, as i type this post on my log i have a kc135 and c17 total of 2 my flights, with 739 network flights. What has ultimately baffled me is that i except that some flights will not display on the map, but i have a squeezy jet g-ejjb on inbound to EGGD on the map, but not in my flights and even more baffled is that it is within my polar diagram. Sorry for the possible dumb question and sorry if its been asked before, but i'm suffering here with the good old cold symptons.

Hi Andy,

Aircraft will only show on the map if they have full ADS-B onboard. Mil aircraft, as a rule, do not have ADS-B and generally only show their hex identifier and altitude. There are some rare exceptions.

Are you sure that G-EJJB was live and not on the network?

Hope your cold gets better soon.

Hi Tom

Thanks for your reply, yes i understand the reason about the mil side of things etc and yes the squeezy was on Network, which is why i was wondering it wasn't in my log as it was in my range so to speak. So i guess i partly answered my own question about it being displayed on the map, but why did it not come up on my log?

The aircraft G-EJJB could have been a network flight but been at low alitutude. Your polar diagram could have shown you that you picked up aircraft in that area but at a much higher altitude.

Hope that makes sense.

Thank you AirNav Support, i think it does make sense, but i believe that my limits are to pick aircraft above 1000ft and the flight level was 5600ft, so slightly baffled still, as people have said a very powerful program and i have loads to learn as only been active since Kemble Airshow 2009

THanks again

Just today I received an email from my Doctor telling me not to eat tinned pork because of concerns over swine flu.

I'll ignore it....its only spam...
