I took my radarbox to  raf conningsby the other week and only got a spitfire on mode s ....none of the ten pair of typhoons were transmitting ...very disappointing

Hi fatkat,

From my own observations the Typhoons only seem to use mode-s when operating from BAe facilities or with RFR c/s when going on deployment, and then its only the lead aircraft of the flight which is transmitting. (Frustrating but makes sense from a security point of view)

Cheers John

Ive already picked up a spitfire, French mirage, Hawks and loads of helicopters.
Very impressed so far.

I hope we're not talking about that Mirage III again  :-)

Whilst at Coningsby I was told they only use mode-s for singleton aircraft or as John has pointed out deployments.

Lots of Military around this week for the show at Fairford although only a fraction of what used to turn up :-(

Hi all,

Missed this one on the box earlier

AE029B BREW32 66-0132 C-141 Starlifter!!!  17:25pm

Airframes has this as retired 2006. So it looks like the codes been re-used any ideas as to what it may be?

Cheers John

Edit In answer to my own question possibly a LN F-15 Tactical code
