I have details that I presume have been autopopulated.

Yup, that's him. Just a load of blanks on My Log. Many thanks Allocator.

Have you tried using the MyLog > Tools > Populate?

If the aircraft was not already in your main database, then no details would have been written to MyLog.  However, if the aircraft did auto-populate, then MyLog Populate will copy the details across.

Yes but to no avail.

Thanks

Can you see aircraft auto-populating in MyFlights and Network lists?

You can use the RB Database Explorer to see if the aircraft is in your main database.

If you only have a mode s code ,then try www.airframes.org and just fill in the mode s code and most of the time you will get what you wont to see.

If you click on registration you will see a picture of the plane but only if it is availlable.

Just seen this aircraft on my other PC - no details when I first detected it, but it auto-populated when I clicked on the data line in MyFlights - just as advertised :-)

Hi again Allocator - I'm new (ish) to RB so please overlook any utter tripe.

What I tend to find for instance is an aircraft being tracked in "my flights" shows the tracking globe, aircraft "B774", distance "89.7 NM" but that's it - very limited info. with many gaps.

A left click on the data line produces no change, however a right click to "show my log" reveals that all the missing info. has in fact been picked up and is listed in my log.

The delay between those full details initially appearing in My Log and subsequently showing in My Flights can be so long as to often not occur at all - the aircraft by now having gone out of range.

Not so much a criticism on my part as a curiosity - the my flights panel being my main interest.

Couple of suggestions:
1. Do you have autopopulate turned on?  It's only turned on if you've ticked the "Download Aircraft Photo" option in preferences.
2. Did you do an upgrade to 2009 (v2.0), or a new installation.  If you did an upgrade, it might be worth trying a new installation instead.

Bratters,

Are you using Windows Vista - I'm sure there was an issue with company logos and aircraft silhouettes not being shown.

Also, you have got the columns you want to see selected in Preferences I presume?

Tarbat first - yes to both!

The "problem"  - let's call it an anomoly - seems to effect planes virtually at the maximum distance for tracking - currently around 100 miles. ie where the blue tracking symbol comes and goes.
Clearly in SOME INSTANCES info. is decoded and appears on My Logs first and then subsequently (but not always) it appears on my flights.
ie fully decoded data does not seem to appear SIMULTANEOUSLY on my flights and my logs.
Is that because the  program stipulates that order of display?

Allocator - I'm XP (don't not like my son's vista overmuch)  As for columns, I work them hard and ring the changes often - depending on what particular fields take my fancy.

I'm close to EMA which gets some interesting cargo movements and operates late. I'm also interested in propogation and aerials and use the distance and altitude columns a lot.

Apropos of which, am I right in assuming that the boundaries of the maximum range polar diagram can only be only extended if the diag. is actually being shown? ie the polar diag. will not operate silently (invisibly) in the background if switched off?

I am almost certain that the polar diagram will develop, even if it is not displayed on screen.
