Invertors..?
« on: January 12, 2009, 03:29:58 PM »
Following on from the discussion in this thread about getting elevation for better reception

http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=1887.msg15168#msg15168

I am keen to get ahold of an invertor to rig up to a couple of leisure batteries and away I go. Having done a bit of searching on the forum I see some people use them to run mobile setups. I found these two (ignore the microwave!!) listed at Argos and was wondering if anybody had either of them and could offer an opinion.

Ideally I want to run the laptop/RB and also my scanner from it.

Regards,

Bob

I have this one:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=227114

A bit more cash, a bit more power, but liked it because it can run direct from a battery for full power or from a lighter socket for 100W odd, enough for a lappy/RB/scanner I think.

Cheers,

I went and got that one from Maplins and it works a treat!
