RadarBox Case - Poll
« on: December 20, 2008, 03:11:53 AM »
We have been recently approached by a company that wants to develop a Case for AirNav RadarBox. This case would have an adapted interior so it can carry the RadarBox unit, Antenna, Baseplate and USB Cable. It is small and ideal size to take it on vacation or to so some spotting at the local airport.

As AirNav Systems is a totally transparent company we would like to ask our users if this something of interest to you and if you have any suggestions for it.
Some photos below.

Price will be of EUR 45 (GBP 42, USD 62).

Your opinions appreciated. We will go ahead with this mini-project only if this something that makes our users happier. :-)

So our question is: will you buy it?

Unfortunately and due to the low quantity of total cases being made we cannot make any changes to the price.

No thanks, usually store mine in my laptop bag. The case doesn't look big enough to hold the antenna though.

I think the idea is good in principle but I think a trip to PC World will get you a bag a little cheaper and a bit more robust. Appreciate you putting it up on the forum for viewing - still refreshing to see a company taking an interest in its customers view at development stage.

I agree. Good idea ,but too expensive and as mentioned looks too small to adequately house the antenna.

Something I would have bought, but for half the price.  I have this baby and it fits the box and cables great + only problem is it does not fit the base plate and antenna, but that's not much of an issue...

I put my RadarBox receiver in a small bubble wrap packet that is just the right size and this goes in my backpack type laptop bag.  The standard antenna fits nicely into the front pocket of the backpack.  Size is everything here, so my simple bubble wrap option keeps the size to a minimum.

I don't think that I would buy a case that results in a bulkier package.

Too expensive.  I also use a laptop bag and have never had any damage problems, so I wouldn't buy this.

I'd be interested in the item as i like the idea of  a carrying option designed for purpose. However I'm concerned that the attached shots don't show the aerial appearing to fit in comfortably. My system presently transports in my camera bag (rucksack type) and this method works fine. I'd like to be sure that the aerial fitted and quality of materials before purchasing. As already stated though it is nice that you take the time to seek feedback.

As a new user also about 4 weeks now I have to say the AirNav radar box is superb adding  awhole new level to my hobby. I find it totally addictive and can't wait to add an outside aerial to see what appens to performance. Keep up the good work.
