Selection problem on XP laptop
« on: December 07, 2008, 05:32:45 PM »
Hi all,

When running AirNav 2009 on my laptop running Windows XP Professional SP3 I'm unable to get the symbol to appear which allows one to widen the map view. Anyone else got this problem?

Tom,

I do remember having this problem ages ago with an early version of the software, but I haven't had it happen since.

Try right clicking on the map and selecting Close, then open the default map again.  Or try using the menu to move the List view from left to right or vice versa.  I'm sure this was what I did to kick-start the 2 headed arrow cursor to move the divider between the list and the map.

Thanks, Allocator. Your second suggestion worked.

Now maybe you can help me with another problem. Once again on the laptop - the 'Advanced' tab never appears.

Are you clicking on the little down arrow (highlighted in red on the attached screenshot)?

Tarbat,

The 'Advanced' box is not showing beside the 'Quick List' box on the laptop.

You must have low resolution screen or large fonts and hence things are being squeezed out. Not a big issue if its missing from the main toolbar as you can get to it from the menus.

Screen is 1024 x 768,  not what I would call low res on a 15" screen. Fonts are small. What has happened is that the Mylog, Reporter and Forum tabs are on the same line as Airline - Quicklist. I'd rather it was the 'Forum' tab that was squeezed out.

I like to be able not to show Network flights on the map in order to reduce clutter, which is easy to do via the Advanced tab. I can't see any place in the menus to achieve that, bar clicking on the 'Get Flights from RadarBox Network' radio button, which does not achieve the same thing.

Hi Tom, the screen display on my wife's laptop is not very good at 1024 x 768, quite sort of fuzzy, and we've lost items off the screen, I changed resolution to 1280 x 800 and it drastically improved the display.
ANRB :  AOR AR8000 : Icom R-7000 : Icom IC-R9000 : JRC NRD-545 : OptoElectronics Digital Scout and OptoLinx Interface; Realistic Pro-2005 : UBC 800XLT - listed in alphabetical order, not cost, preference, performance or entertainment value!

Thanks Jon, I'll see if it will go to that res, though there's nothing fuzzy about my laptop screen at 1024 x 768.
