Make sure you are using RadarBox 2009 from our site:

http://www.airnavsystems.com/RadarBox/support.html

Download the full version. Incase that doesn't work right click on the product icon and select run with admin rights.

Almost certainly your virus checker checking every single photo file, logo file, flag file etc when RB starts.

Are you using AVG Anti Virus by any chance?  There's a thread here somewhere about this.  You can set up an "exception" so that the anti virus doesn't check all the RB files.

If fact, I think that this is the thread that covers anti-virus checking - page 9 onwards?

Yes,  i loaded the disc that came with rb, then i installed the 2009 update from this site.

When you plugged in the RadarBox receiver to the USB port, did you get the "Found New Hardware Message"?

When you got this, did you let Windows install the drivers automatically - wrong thing to do - or did you browse to the /Drivers directory in the RadarBox 2009 directory?

Sounds like you haven't got the RB drivers installed correctly.

Also, did you have RB running with the disk that came with RB before you did the upgrade to 2009.

RB 2009 is a completely new program that goes into a separate directory.  It's better to do the full 2009 install rather than an upgrade to 2007.

Ok, I just removed the original software that came with rb from the pc, just installed 2009 version from this site, still only got a blank radar screen, the airnav radar symbol in the top right corner is still rotating, when a move the cursor over the screen the long and lats co-ordinates still change as and when i move it, all i have is a map of uk showing my marker form home, i can play around with the maps, ie zoom, move etc, all my live data clock in bott right is working, i just cant bget any flight labels or flight logs, i have done everything i can think of,
when i unplug and plug the usb in, i get the audible ping from the pc, but no new hardware found.

System

Vista premium
Intel core 2 quad
2.4g
4 gig ram
nvidia 9600gt
