Please Can Anyone Answer My Airnav Questions?
« on: September 07, 2008, 09:06:16 PM »
Okay Here It Goes :

1. I've seen people pin point there home on the airnav maps for e.g. on the england one , Is this possible , and you can still see aircraft passing in the range from your home.

2. What Is the range on the antenna that comes with the RB?

3. Can you mount the antenna outside? / is the wires long enough? , if not what antenna would be good with this system?

4. Is it possible just to see flights in your area , and no where else?

5 Last of all - Is the RB Easy to run and use?

6. does this Rb track all of the aircraft around , not just airlines?

Thank You In Advance :)

Hi Johnn,

1.) Yes you can put in your GPS position or the nearest town and it will be marked on the map.

2.) Range depeants on your location and whether it has a view of the horizon. If it does you can easily reach 100miles + with the antenna supplied.

3.) The cable is 1.5 metres, so it would not really be sufficent. Our order page has an external antenna kit which will boost your reception.

4.) Yes you just turn off network flights.

5.) Very easy, once installed you can sit back and watch all the flights and all the information appearing.

Hope that helps.

It only tracks aircraft that are equiped with ADS-B. Most aircraft will be airliners, but sometimes there are some smaller aircraft equiped with ADS-B but not so many. Even some airliners are not visible because they don't send their position. They might be visible in the listed aircraft, but not on the map itself.
