I have been trying to update my local db from the server. Getting this error message
08:31:18: Update Started.
08:31:18: Checking Server for Updates.
08:31:18: Invalid Data Received from Server. Update Aborted.
I have seen this regularly before which occurs under certain circumstances and have a workaround to get over this. When I get this I normally have to kill the process and then restart the RDB app. At which point I can got thru the update routine. This has always suggested to me either a local db file is held open or corrupted and cant be over written
However, this work around has not worked for last two days and I cannot update my DB despite multiple restarts using the correct procedure.
So a couple of requests
1. Can it be confirmed that the update server is working and your local DB can be updated?
2. If all okay with the update service can anyone advise which files get downloaded and updated prior to the app restart?
3. Worst case I download the app and do a fresh install. Can you advice which files I backup to keep my setup. Color.mci and dat006 and the icon and flag files. Others?
