AirNav Systems working with BBC TV
« on: June 26, 2008, 03:00:50 PM »
AirNav were recently approached by a production company working for the BBC, to assist with a new documentary TV program.  The program, titled "Britain from Above" will provide a unique view of life in the British Isles from an airborne perspective.

"Britain from Above will look at varied issues from how four million people move around Greater London each day and how football crowds move to why 'phantom' traffic jams inexplicably appear on motorways."

"You'll also see how thousands of planes pass over us each day, the way towns develop, how Britain shines permanently at night and why our land mass is constantly on the move, gently tilting from North to South."

AirNav provided 48 hours of XML Network data and this will be interpreted to display a 3D view of air traffic over Britain.  The program will be hosted by Andrew Marr and is planned to screen in Autumn 2008 on BBC One, Two and Four and will also be available on line via the BBC iPlayer.

"bbc.co.uk will deliver Britain From Above – a fresh approach to online documentary in which material from programmes running across BBC One, BBC Two and BBC Four will enable users to explore their own country from a new perspective and which will remain available online as a lasting resource."
