New Version - Signing On
« on: February 16, 2017, 06:37:08 AM »
Hi all,

I just got a new laptop and have installed the latest software (6.01).  I signed up for account, etc with an email address but i'm finding that I can only successfully launch RB when i'm connected to the internet.  If I have no connectivity, it gives an error message about "cannot find server".

Have I done something wrong?  Did I miss something?

Any help appreciated.

Regards,
Tony

I believe that the computer needs to be connected to the internet the first time you launch V6 thereafter it should start up without requiring to be connected to the internet.  However I believe this may be an issue with  V6.00.01 so I have advised Airnav.

Unless you are using a dongle there is no advantage in using V6 so I would suggest that you revert to V5.00.72 and you will have no problems http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/ANRB50072Setup.exe

Again V6.00.00 does not have that problem http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/ANRB60000Setup.exe so if you are using a dongle reverting back to it should resolve your issue.

Support@airnavsystems may be able to assist so if you intend staying with it drop them an email and they may be able to advise.

Thanks - Downloading 5.00.72 and will revert to that.  Although thinking about the impact - it will require the user and password associated with the box and I don't think I have that information with me (i'm away from home for 3.5 weeks)....

If you send your email address to support they should be able to provide you with the info you need.  Also V6 is OK after the first log in, I have had no problem with that with my dongle or box at log in, there are other issues with V6 but not that

I have been advised by Airnav of the following when using V6

If you logs in with your RadarBox24 user/password you always need an internet connection.

If you logs in with your PGANRB***** user/password then no internet connection is needed.

How can I see what is my user / password to log in my station?

Is that for a Radarbox or a comstation.  If it is a Radarbox the details are on the disc that come with the software .

If it is a comstation click onto any of the aircraft coming from your unit on Radarbox24 and you will see the units serial number as the feeder.  Alternatively with a comstation assuming your unit is linked to your account click on My Account on Radarbox24 and you will get a grid drop down on the right of the map which will state Your Stations, click on it and you will see your units serial number.  Your password is whatever you use to log into Radarbox24.

If the unit is not linked to your account drop me an email and I will have it linked

I just installed 6.01.00 today. The new startup window asks for the email and password. I used the one for the forum and it did not work.

I then tried using my PGAN name and password and that worked.

They need to change the sign-on screen to clarify that one can use either the hardware credentials or registration credentials. Since they appear to be different than the forum credentials there should be a way to recover them as well from that screen.

Forum log in has never been used to log into the app, it is to log into the forum only.  Loads of unit user don't even know about the forum or use it

Unit/Micro users are either wanting to watch their output on their unit or on RB24 so it makes sense for the log in to be applicable to them and not the forum where the output cannot be watched.

Interesting never realised I could use my PGAN password with the Dongle.  Agree that the wording on V6 lead me to believe I should use the Radarbox.com password.   Question for v6.01 does it remeber the PGAN user name and password?  Guess I will have to try later for to satify my curiosity

I will include add this to the details previously given to Airnav .  I believe that the original intention for the dongle was to feed RB24 and to look at its output on it hence the Radarbox24 password wording.  When you get the Radarbox dongle you are directed to register using the RB24 log in details but of course purchasers of other makes of dongles don't receive this information.

I use my usual Radarbox log in details with V6 and didn't even think about using the RB24 one.

To use the RB24 log in details at this time when using V6 with a dongle you require to be connected to the internet but don't need to when using your Radarbox log in details
