Connection Issues
« on: November 06, 2016, 08:34:05 AM »

Morning,

I have gone months of use with my RB1with no problems, then suddenly issues. On start up suddenly the software cant find my RB. Usually it states found RB1 .or similar. I have deleted all the old stuff and downloaded new but no change. I was on 5.0072 now 6.00
I have also down loaded up to date database. System states no hardware connected, box has green power light on and usb light flashing blue every second.
Grateful for any advice. Is there a structured idiots guide anywhere as I am not the most tech savy ?
Off on a bike ride now to get over the frustration.

Hi Alan,

Is the USB cable not OK because the box has power..via the usb cable. If there can still be an issue with the cable how can I check if it is working correctly?

Regards

Change the cable also try starting up again and see if the box is recognised

What Windows version are you using, try loading the drivers again

I have now tried a new usb cable and I still have the same problem, so it isn't the usb cable.

The green power light is on and the usb light on box is flashing every second blue.

I upgraded from Windows 8 to windows 10 some time ago.

It may be that I haven't downloaded the software into the correct place.

I have also tried both type of drivers. Should I use the Microsoft or windows 8 ?

Is there anywhere that has an idiots step by step how I do this ?

Appreciate any help

Thanks R O

Hi Alan,

Thanks for your patience. This is not going well.

I believe I am trying to download the correct driver. It says window 8 even though 10 ? The one on the page you direct me to is the same one I am trying to use from the support page ? support pagre has the Microsoft or windows 8.
The problem is I click on the download..it then states save or save as. I am downloading this into my download file. I then can't work out how to get it to usb drivers. No box suddenly appears and I have tried plugging radar box in and keep engaging usb from it but it aint working.

As you upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8 you already have the driver in the correct place and RB would work.  The problem will be that you will now have Windows 10.1 which is causing the problem as signed drivers are now required and these are not ready yet therefore the software is not working

As a work round to allow the unsigned drivers to work you will need to follow the following from the last page on that thread

Hold down shift key and restart the PC.
Select 'troubleshoot'
Select 'advanced options'
Select 'startup options'
Select 'restart'
You will then see a list of actions. Select F7 to disable driver signing'
PC will restart automatically.

Hopefully that will be your problem fixed

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the advice so far. Am still not up and running. I foolishly deleted all software when it stopped and now drivers are not where they should be. Any idea when new drivers available ?

Regards
