Logging from port 7879
« on: April 30, 2008, 08:59:52 AM »
Anyone know about an application able to log the output from port 7879 in an easy way?
I've been trying with some telnet applications (Normal telnet included in XP and SecureCRT).

Telnet seems to cut the last line, and SecureCRT has max number of columns, and won't break the line. I need to have this output from port 7879 to a file called for instance aircraft.log, which is automatically ftped over to my Linux server in an other location for processing.

There may also be an other problem with the data stream. There is very few messages in the text output.. MyLog shows 67 as MsgCount for CNO2309, but only 5-6 in the output I read with the telnet client. I'd love to have access to more than the first message from the aircraft.

btw, my own systems are working pretty OK now, when an aircraft that is not a usual visitor to Kvernberget Airport, I automatically get an sms. And my flight info (for cellular phones) for Kvernberget get added info about the aircraft, and the possibility to view pictures. Just need to tune the data input to it :)

Delayed data is also available on port 3003 and comes out comma delimited with CR+LF at the end of each line.

Use Windows Hyperterminal to view - localhost 30003

You can write to a txt file too using Hyperterminal.

Thanks.. Is this data in the same format as from Basestation Logger (SBS-1) ?
I found an explanation on their forum on the various fields and what they are.

It's supposed to be the same as the BaseStation port 30003 output, but it's not quite the same yet - consider it "work in progress".  There is another thread here on the forum regarding the format.  I'll post the link when I find it.

Here it is:
