Radarbox Data Sharer 1.20 v.RB24120 Installation
« on: March 27, 2016, 12:04:05 AM »
Need Help ?

My Radarbox Data Sharer 1.20 v.RB24120 has been installed and all parameters appears to be ok with the exception of the [Stats] which are all at "0" and this: [Input Port] : Not connected [yellow box].

I have a NESDR Mini SDR & DVB-T USB Stick (RTL2832 + R820T) and Antenna;
The Software packaged installed for this are:
-Zadig
-CubicSDR
-RTL 1090 IMU from: jetvision.de v. B:103, and finally:
-Radarbox Data Sharer 1.20 v.RB24120

I can see the data on traffic on my RTL 1090 but i cannot see it on my RadarBox Account and it does not appear to be share on RB24. The RTL 1090 TCP port is: 31001

What I am missing ?
What tweaking do i have to do to MS Windows 10 to get this data shared on RB24

Anybody ?
Thank for your time

Hi Luigi,

sorry for the late reply. The sharing software needs the following in dump1090.bat:

--net-sbs-port 30003

The sharing software needs SBS Basestation compatible data stream on port 30003. Unfortunaltely other data format or other port won't work.

Update:

If you want to use RTL1090.exe:

- close rtl1090.exe
- go to the folder were the RTL1090.exe is.
- Look for rtl1090.ini and open it.
- look for the folowing entry: cb130003=0
- replace the "0" with "1": cb130003=1
- save and close the rtl1090.ini
- open rtl1090.exe

...or use modesmixer...

for example

modesmixer2.exe  --inConnect 127.0.0.1:30005  --outServer msg:30003

Work perfect :)

What are you using to feed?  If you are using the flightstick through the V6 software you will already be feeding to RB24, there is no use using the sharing software.  Where are you located?

Hi Alan.

Two weeks ago I registered with RB24 with a new email, and started feeding RB24 from a microRadar dongle and V6 using that new email account. Although the V6 showed feeding, no station was added to my new account.

When I emailed to Support, they advised me that instead of V6, I should use "Radarbox Data Sharer 1.20"

Regards,
abcd

Thanks for the info abcd

In his signature he states

FlightStick with Airnav Radarbox Software
https://www.radarbox24.com/stations/PGANRB300418 which happens to be a comstation ID

If you look up the station page it is feeding with far better range than his xrange so I was wondering why the need for the data sharer software which will duplicate what he is doing

If however the data sharer is not working and he wants to use it instead maybe support should be contacted for advice in getting it up and running

Alan

That is what confused me too.

The V6 software is two-in-one. It is a receiver-decoder software as well as datafeeder.

The  Radarbox Data Sharer 1.20 is data feeder only. One has to install a receiver-decoder software to provide it data. Following Windows software are generally installed and used by those who feed data using Radarbox Data Sharer 1.20.

(1) RTL1090 by Jetvison
 (a) https://www.jetvision.de/manuals/rtl1090.beta3.zip
 (b) https://osmocom.org/attachments/download/2242/RelWithDebInfo.zip

Unzip both the above downloaded zip files.

Copy files "rtlsdr.dll" and "libusb-1.0.dll" from unzipped "RelWithDebInfo" sub folder "x32" To unzipped "rtl1090.beta3"

(3) dump1090 for Windows by Programmer Malcolm Robb
https://github.com/MalcolmRobb/dump1090/blob/master/dump1090-win.1.10.3010.14.zip?raw=true

All these software use any one of following dongles:
(1) Generic DVB-T (RTL2832U+R820T2 chips)
(2) microRadarBox by RB24
(3) FlightStick by RB24
(4) ProStic & ProStickPlus by FA
(5) Nano by Nooelect
(6) RTL-SDR blog dongle.

Thanks abcd, I was not aware that you had to install one of the dump1090 versions as well as the Radarbox data sharer software on your windows computer

I dont have dump1090 software or the data sharer software installed but still have my station showing on RB using V6 to feed into the network

Hi Alan

About 10 years ago, I got my station EXTSHA000184 automatically created and linked to my account when I started feeding RB24 using Radarbox Data Sharer software. I used RTL1090 as receiver-decoder, since Data Sharer lacks a decoder. I also successfully tried dump1090-win32 and ModeSDeco2 (windows version).  I continued feeding RB24 using the Data Sharer for many years.

Several years later, I installed V6, and using the email and password of EXTSHA000184, could successfully login and feed RB24 without using dump1090 or RTL1090 as V6 is a complete stand-alone all-in-one software.

Recently I loggedin to V6 using a newly registered account, using its email and password. Unlike Data Sharer, V6 failed to assign a new station number.

I contacted Support. They advised  me to login using Data Share. When I logged-in using the data Sharer, it instantly created and displayed a new station number EXTSHA197001. Now I can feed using V6 (without dump1090 or RTL1090) using the new account's email and password.

CONCLUSION:
To get a new Statiin number againt a new account, use "Data Sharer+RTL1090", as V6 is incapable to do this.

However once a new Station Number is created using Data Sharer, the V6 can also use it.

Thanks abcd, I use the log in details of my long dead original radarbox so that will be the reason mines works

I usually stick to using V6 but use Radabox to show only unknowns to add to the database and have not looked at MyStation on RB for years until today
