I'm not sure that Steve is still active on the forum and the RadarBox Utilities site hasn't been updated for a while.

I'm happy to start again with this if anybody is interested.  The web address isn't as posh as Steve's, but it's free and there is loads of space.

http://radarbox.gofreeserve.com/

I'd just do what Steve was doing and put some of the commonly used files, outlines etc there for download.

I'll take a straw poll and see if it's worth doing - let me know.

Hi Allocator

I'll happily supply outlines and logos - it will be useful for new users to download them in one big file (which the forum can't support) rather than the little zips that we have now.

Please PM me to discuss and tell me where to send them.

Thanks Allocator I'd use the utilities site too, would it be possible to get an increased Navdata db? using the sbs and rb combined? I know people are doing it themselves but not all are computer minded... me included.

It would be great to have our users supporting their own utilities site. Anything you need from AirNav Systems we can help.

OK Chaps,

I probably won't be able to do anything until next week, but I'll keep you updated here.

Rod, I'll PM you with an email address when I'm ready to go - thank you.

Once I'm up and running, I'll be happy to post peoples screen shots, polar diagrams, unusual aircraft etc.  Actually running a website isn't difficult, it's the content that takes all the time, so any contributions will be happily accepted.  I'll think about contact details, maybe my gmail account as that will keep things separate from all the other stuff I deal with.  I think that Gofreeserve has email functionality too - I'll look into this further :-)

Thanks

Allocator

Yes, Steve did an excellent job, but maybe he has other priorities that prevent him from running the Utilities website at the moment.

OK, not much in the way of content at the moment, just playing with the format - suffering from fat fingers at the moment, refresh the page to correct my typos - I'll start in earnest next week.

The contact email works from the front page.  I'll publish it here as it will go into the gofreeserve "bucket" email account and I can filter all the spam using Mailwasher!

OK, the new RadarBox Utilities website is up and running.  It's there for all RadarBox users, so you tell me what you want to see there and I'll see what I can do.  The idea is that it will be a useful single point of contact for all those bits that can take time to find in the Forum as the posts build up.

The logos and outlines will be available for download soon, but other ideas I have are:

- Polar diagrams - switch off both live and network traffic and set the polar diagram colour nice and bright so it can be seen.  Then take a screen shot and email it to the Webmaster address on the Utilities site

- Screen shots from different locations around the world.  Maybe only live traffic so that potential users will see what they might see - don't know - maybe one with live and one with network and live?

- RadarBox reports - maybe just a sample report for a day from different parts of the world?  As the report will only show live traffic, this will give a good idea of typical traffic for the area.

Just thinking out loud here, so all ideas gratefully accepted.  I don't really want to repeat any of the FAQ's that are available on the forum, as I can just link to those, but maybe a few user comments or reviews?

As I said, it's your site, so just give me a few pointers :-)  Updates will be done when I've got time, although I'll try to acknowledge contributors by email as I receive content.  I'll screen stuff to make sure that there are no specific locations, emails etc before they get posted - just be careful what you send if you want to remain autonomous to a degree.

Hi Allocator,

Here's one for starters. A script that will record all the information that RB gathers, which will run until 23:59 each day and write to a .csv file.
