Rod,

Shouldn't be any problems. I did the same thing without any need to update drivers. It worked straight away. Keeping fingers crossed !

One thing I have noticed is that it both starts up and closes down a lot quicker than before. It also has 2 browsers Microsoft Explorer and Microsoft Edge meaning you can have one thing going on one browser and one on the other and quickly switch between the 2 without losing track of what you are doing (easy done for me).

Cheers, Ian, I usually have around 8 tabs going at any time on IE so doesn't help me.

After 24 hours all is still going OK. Had to tell it that I type in UK-ish rather than American, and that I live in the England and not Iceland.

Apart from ongoing support from Microsoft, and a bit of control over the taskbar on my twin-screen setup, I haven't spotted any advantages over Win 7 at all. The overall look is very flat and boring - ah well...

Thanks Rod.

I think I will remain on Windows 7. I have experienced windows upgrades before so I think I shall remain here in Windows 7 until I am forced to move as to me it doesn't offer me anything I don't have.  Dinosaur forever!!

Alan,

I hope you wait many years before you catch the same fate as the dinosaurs did several million years ago...

By the way. I'm on Win10 for several days now and have to admid that  I'm not feeling any big difference between Win7 and Win10. Never thought that I would say this, but I'm indeed not missing Win7.

Please give some examples for old peripherals.
All my peripherals are working ok so far.

Unfortunately it seems, that I have to go back to win7 on my 24/7 server, as the stupid forced update functionality is freezing ANRB software each time it launches.

What do you mean by forced update Ingo.

I was thinking about my scanner as my last one I had for less than two years then Windows 8 cam along and I couldn't get Windows 8 drivers for it and had to throw it out and buy a new one.  I also have a serial adaptor to connect my radio to the computer and it works ok in Win 7, maybe look and see if it both are W10 capable.

In Win 10 (home) you have no choice to discard updates or a particular update. Neither you can choose the installation time of an update 100% freely. In Germany they call it zwangsupdate. Under Win10 pro this shall be different but as I'm not owning Win10 pro I can't confirm that it's better there.
Until now I had three ANRB software freezes.  All three times the freeze time matched up with the time the update available message on the  Win10 message & information board was displayed. Checking the installed updates shows, that an update was installed at freezing time.

My scanner is 4 by 5 years old and is working with Win drivers under Win10.

Hi,
Downloaded win 10 and all working well, however how do you change the download settings ie for the logos , automatically go to download file rather than me selecting the relevant folder.
Googled it with no luck.
Thanks
Mike.

As far as I could figure out changing the download/save destination is not possible in ms edge. You have to use Internet Explorer, firefox or chrome to be able to select the destination folder.
