Windows 7 to Windows 10 on ANRB PC?

Rod, from 7 it is no big difference, just some cosmetic upgrade.
It is more a BIG improvement for those who (have to) use win8 now.
For the moment i can not find a real good reasonto make it from 7 to 10, the new internet explorer "Edge" is not all that impressive, but i use Firefox anyway.
To make use of the Win appstore, you have to sign-inn with a Windows account, who suddenly take's control of a lot of you're system, including the nessecesaty to put in a pasword everytime you start-up the system (but i found a way to go around this)
It takes rather some RAM memory to run well, specially start-up and shutdown ; i had to revert back to 7 on my laptop because of this.
You can install 10 on you're system no problem and check it out for 30 days, after that Win removes the back-up files who allows you to revert back ro 7.
So basickly you risk nothing trying it out, just DO NOT PERFORM A SYSTEM CLEEN-UP/OPTIMALISATION, i did this, resulting in the loss of those TEMP files, leaving me stuck with win 10, not that this is a problem as everything runs fine and i like the fresh stile of 10.
I have just one litle problem since i upgraded to 10 : now when i ad a photo or logo to the folder, they no longer sort automaticly in the folder, probably a setting somewhere, but i can't find it.

No idea what Microsoft Edge is, I shall see when I come over but at least you can save your logos

Hi Alan,

regarding Edge: for me it's just another crappy microsoft web Browser.

Tried it out and decided to stay with firefox and chrome.

If you save the logos as Alan suggested in reply #28, they do save and sort automatically in the folders.

As soon as Windows 8 was announced I rushed to by a new Windows 7 PC - so I've never experienced the "joys" of 8. I'm always very reluctant to change operating systems, and so far no-one has talked about any particular advantages of changing to 10 apart from getting rid of 8!

I'll certainly take your experience on board when I do decide to change - probably when they bring out version 10.1 to fix the bugs!

I've changed to Win10 on RB 24/7 to see if it is an option for the future. I kept the strong PC as an emergency fall back. The first test, a power mains outage, was survived with only few smaler glitches.
For now I'll keep the RB24/7 PC running with Win10 for 28 days until final decision. If no major problems occur during this period I'll keep Win10. If they occur I'll fall back to Win7 and keep it as long as I can.

I hate new operating systems if they don't work as they should or if they are user-hostile in operation. Surprisingly both wasn't the case with Win10. Usually I waited at least until the first service pack before I changed the os.

One good thing of Win10: The list of installed programs can searched in alphabetic blocks. After opening all apps list you can click on the letter A, so you can get the alphabet displayed. To go to Programms starting with e.g. W klick on W and all W programs are listed. 

Resuming the Win7, Win8 to Win10 transition:

Win7 to Win10: no need to rush anything, If you want to, no reasons why not (for now)
Win8 to Win10: From my point of view: Change ASAP, Vista was a desease but Win8 was a desease infected by a curse.

My reason for upgrade from win 7are:
1 Win 7 will end of support soon.
2 It's free.
3 Multiple virtual desktop ( finally )
4 No need to perform clean install

It was one of the smoothness Windows upgrade.

I tried all the possibilities proposed in the forum but no solution allows me to run my RadarBox.
For information, before I had win 7, I chose not to keep it simple and make up 10 win.
Result, in Device Manager panel, the RadarBox drivers appears like this:

There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To locate a driver for this device, click Update Driver. >>

You should have mentioned that you could not get it to work with Windows 10.

Have you tried to install the Windows 8 drivers and followed the advice in the sticky at the top of the page.  If the drivers are working for an upgrade I cannot see why they would not work for a full install but then again I know nothing about them.  Support may though.

Well, I changed my mind and have just upgraded from 7 to 10.

I'm in the first 15 minutes, and everything seems to have gone smoothly - RadarBox worked with no hesitation - haven't even updated the drivers!

Fingers crossed that it will still work tomorrow morning when I turn the PC on again!
