Many thanks M, wonder why the Air India miscode is not showing an AIC flight ID

Alan

Well, it obviosly has a faulty transponder and the flight ID can be anything. In FR24 playback for Dec 17, 2019 the flight ID changes (west of Moscow) at 04:22z from AIC174 to XE8. And later at 04:47z from XE8 to R.

Hi M

You are correct it did change its flight code west of MOW. It was showing as 0000 00000000 on FR24 but had not noticed the change from AIC code to XE8 as it was outside my range when it did.  The XE8 change made it look like ex Pskov. The multiple 0 is also typical on Russian Military miscodes on FR24.

Thanks for clearing that one up

Yes I think one box has the correct code 8004DB and the other one is miscoded 0004DB.

Alan/ffa

* 1F7040  CTA100A                                                          2019/12/20 10:33:35

1F7040 is a factory code and should decode to 157040 which is RA/RF-94272

RF-94272 / 34 blue is an IL78M tanker of the VKC (Russia - Air Force) 10134 04138 but normally does not squit

Flying in very tight circles over ZIA (which is unusual for an IL78) and out over the test area SE of Mow reaching 39000ft and 400+ knots but I cannot confirm.

PS Photo on web shows it at ZIA at time of MAKS, and I did see it there, so perhaps is RF-94272 test flying after rework at Ilyushin

1F7040  CTA100A has been up in the air for over 4 hours now, so must be the IL78 at that height, speed and duration

Hi Terry

I only use the dba part for ownership, in the case of N24SR Exclusive Aircraft Sales
Private is not used for ownership, it is either the owner details where known or it is left blank
N999AT is ex 9H-DDJ on its way to it new home I presume

Thanks again

Thanks X.  I would presume that it will stop squitting when it goes off testing and goes into service

I suppose it will stop squitting this Ilyushin reworks test code when it goes back to VKC service. It is still up there at 37000ft flying in massive circuits SE of MOW.
