Setting Home Location
« on: December 19, 2014, 09:48:45 PM »
Are there detailed instructions available on how to setup Home Location and Save it.
Set mine up to a nearby airfield and somehow lost it, so tried auto detect, which gave me a location hundreds of miles away. Still gives accurate plots, but would rather have home location as accurate as possible.
Tks.
Newbie.

Best using google earth set to give decimal values for lat and long, you can zoom right into your location.  Remember if you are west of 0 degrees to put - in front of long

Hi Lenow,

If you use the website below, it should give you your location with a decimal format that RadarBox will happily plot:

EDIT: Original reply has been corrected. Therefore the text below isn't relevant any longer.

Alan, are you shure with the - infront of the long value,f you are east of 0 degree? I'm about9.8 degree east and no '-' is required. But if you are west of 0 degree it is required.

Easiest way is to use the Radarbox map itself.  Get you location visible on the map, and right click where your home is, and select "Set as home location".

Thanks to everyone for the replies, problem is with windows7 cannot see all information in the preferences window, now sorted after update. But since update nothing functions, no aircraft at all. Have contacted Support for help. Again thanks for all the replies, much appreciated.

L.
