Its official, News in our papers today state that DXB has finally overtaken LHR as the No1 International Airport in the World. And that was achieved even with one runway shut for resurfacing for 80 days earlier this year and flights were cut by 40%. Not bad for a small place like Dubai! Must be something to do with 57 EK A388 in service (not including all the Qantas ones on code shares), DXB is definitely Hippoville!

Many thanks for those X.  Heathrow is not going to get any busier unless they get a new runway and that will need a lot of homes and businesses demolished to get it.

OMDB will not have the record for that long, as eventually all will go to DWC once it gets its 5 runways and new Terminals up and running (handling 4 landings at one time!). No one complains about building the biggest airport on the planet in a desert..DXB will probably become just another huge Mall and tourist attraction! And we have Expo 2020 to come.

News is just reporting a Saab 340 of Loganair has crashed on take off in Stornoway...all safe but seems high winds hit it just as it lifted and it looks pretty banged up off the runway
