Thanks for bringing this to everybody's attention, just bought one as a spare. If there's free network with it (not sure until it arrives), it'll be cheaper than renewing, plus spare RB, twig and leads etc..

They're obviously clearing the decks but what for?

Is this the end of the road for RB or is there something new in the pipeline?

Place your bets.

Hi Jon, the original does everything I need, so I'm not too bothered about bells and whistles - unless it's MLAT!

Yep - reckon you're about right there Jon. There's really not much more they can add apart from Mlat.

They might like to finally fix the "quote" function as a last gesture but in view of how few of us there seem to be using the forum, it's probably not worthwhile.

It was fun while it lasted.

They may also be trying to get more coverage and reducing the price for awhile.
No point speculating about things until they happen.

cheers,

Quite correct Jason !

By the way are you up to your neck in snow yet. I used to regularly stay with relations in Bramalea and know how bad it can get !

No Snow here at all, as soon as you go north of Steeles Ave.  Anything is possible!!!

I am directly below the 15L and 15R approach now, they only use these runways on rare occasions, maybe 5 times a months during bad weather etc.  But what a treat when they do!

The view from my bedroom window!

Well, my package arrived RM Special Delivery next day, looks to be the complete package with free network access, won't be firing it up until this period's paid subscription runs out next October/November time, total price with SD £68.45.    Serial Number of the unit is ANRB143XX.  Get in there quick if you want to buy one as a spare.  Thanks NB

The box is the same Jeff, software different but doesn't really matter as you have to update both to V5.00.72 when they arrive anyway.

I cant really say Jeff, just had a look at my original disc and it just stated AirNav Radarbox.  About the only way I would be able to find out what is on the disc would be to load it in and see what it says on the screen.

As far as  I can remember the Pro was an update of the original 2009 software, the hardware remained the same . 5.00.72 superseded the previous versions.

If you click on Radarbox on the right of you screen that will take you into the Radarbox website give you descriptions and comparisons with 3D so you will be able to see what the Pro version has.

Either way, nobody would use it as 2009 or Pro and would require to update to 5.00.72 anyway.
