Regarding Thai, The Wiki article you mention also details : On 1 April 1988, then-Prime Minister Gen. Prem Tinsulanonda, in seeking to have a single national carrier, merged the international and domestic operations of the two companies to form the present company, Thai Airways International.
The company profile on their website details : Thai Airways International Public Co,.ltd is a national enterprise subordinated to the Ministry of Transport. It is a public company registered in The Securities Exchange of Thailand since 1991 with the Ministry of Finance as a dominance shareholder at more then 50%. We therefore standardised on Thai Airways International as the airline name.
Thai Airways or even Thai as that it what is on the aircraft, could also be considered appropriate and the 2 non standard names were a mistaken entry by myself which I have now standardised to the same as the other fleet members removing the inconsistency you mention.
