They emailed asking me to fill the form in Add Coverage section of RB24 so did I.  That was 5 days ago..  My feeder account still not activated.

In the mean time my RB has arrived Waters & Stanton.  Let see how soon I get the repaired RB back.

Hi,
I just received my radar-box back from Waters & Stanton after it went very deaf.

I am now only getting about half what I was receiving before.

I wonder if its the Saw filter that's the problem something is definitely limiting my signal as I could see SE for 200nm before

Not happy!!

I would get back on to Waters and Stanton, they should have checked it was working OK before they dispatched it to you.

Hi Alan,
On the invoice it said Checked and working OK .

At this moment I can not see any aircraft over the North Sea as before i could read SAS for a long time before timing out and I used to see right down from Leeds to almost the Dutch coast.

Although it 's a little better than when I sent it in it took them 3 weeks to do and had to ring twice about the progress mmm.

And of course all of this is costing money.

Rant over

Thanks Alan

John

Until now haven't heard from both AirNav or Waters and Stanton since I sent the box on May 14.  AirNav support hasn't reply my mail either.  Should I worry?

BTW My share client account still hasn't been activated.  I wouldn't worry about this.

Hi Kenny,

I keep waiting to see the returns from Bangkok.  I have emailed support and am waiting on a reply.

I would suggest you contact Waters and Stanton by email to find out mailto:  [email protected]

Hi Kenny,
Ditto, just in time for the monsoons?  Just a thought, did W&S list the fault or replaced components?  I've just noticed that the clock time in here is GMT -1, what's that, Central European time?   I'd've expected UTC Z - GMT time to be used for an application like this.

I ought to take the AOR AR8000 off my profile, it was lifted when I was in Weybridge and London in June/July - anyone got one they'd like to sell me?

Hi CoastGuardJon,

The repair log they told me was:

"Replaced F1 and added a resistor modification to help reduce chance of damage to SAW filter. Tested ok."

Hi Kanok,
"Replaced F1 and added a resistor modification to help reduce chance of damage to SAW filter. Tested ok."

Not quite the classic repair - "SAW filter replaced" - good to have you back with us!   How are you finding the sensitivity now, any reduction in range, although of course, that could be due to weather conditions or A/C not flying as high etc..

Hi CostGuardJon,

The RB still building a new polar plot.  But from what I see it is quite similar to the one before repair.  I may have to compare the screen capture after it has enough plot.

Kenny.
