Odd Flight path
« on: April 29, 2014, 04:15:46 PM »
Anyone know why DHL Flight QY1224 last night about 2-3.30 a.m. flew from Brussels to East Midlands, but did not land.
It came down to about 4.000 ft, then did about six circles near EMA, then flew back to Brussels, where it landed aparently with no problem.
I picked it up on my Radar Box then put on Flightradar 24 to show the path.
All a little odd. THe flight showed BRU to EMA.

A flight had an under carriage collapse on landing at EGNX and the airport was shut for most of the morning as the runway was blocked.  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-27201081

Thanks,
That explains it. I thought there must be an airport problem, but saw no notifications.
When it turned away, I expected it to go to Stanstead, but it flew on back to Brussels.
I actually watched the Air Contractors plane go in, but obviously knew nothing of what happened.
Many thanks for the link.
