BETA TESTERS WANTED for iPAD application
« on: April 01, 2014, 11:11:12 AM »
Hi All,

I have been given permission directly from AirNav to post on this forum.

I have developed an iPad application that compliments the AirNav RadarBox software/hardware.

I am looking for 5 BETA testers to test the app and give feedback before I release the app to the public. It will be a paid app once live, but the Beta testers will get an Adhoc install for testing, and a promo code once it's live.

The criteria for the tester must be as follows:

1) Own an iPad with iOS7 installed (Minimum iPad 2)
2) Have AirNav RadarBox installed on your computer, connected to a RadarBox and receive a minimum of 15 aircraft at any one time (via Hardware).
3) You must understand what IP addresses are and how to find out your computer IP address (Internal Network)
4) It would be desirable if you knew how to setup port forwarding on your router but not essential (let me know)

If you would like to submit your interest, please drop me an email directly to [email protected]

Many thanks,

Matt

You may re-concider number 2 as it is impossible to fullfill this requirement between 2am CEST and 4am CEST. Not enough airtraffic at this time.

I read it differently.  I don't believe it means 15+ constantly but 15+ when you attach with the sw on the ipad. to me "at any one time" means than when you do your testing then there must 15+ on your radarbox

Thanks for the replies guys..

With regards to the number of aircraft received, the requirement is only when you use the iPad application. The idea behind this test is that more resources are used when there are more aircraft detected.

Thanks,

Matt

Matt, does the cost of the app include any hardware needed to connect to the RB or is it port forwarded from the PC connected to the radar box ?.

I'm just interested if the RB hardware still needs to be physically connected via a PC switched on and running.

Cheers

There is no way to connect a RB to an iPad.

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the late reply, I did not receive any notifications that this thread had been replied to.

However, there is no extra hardware required.  The iPad application will communicate to RadarBox via the local Wifi connection or via the iPads own internet connection (if you have a sim installed with a data plan). The latter would require port forwarding configured on your home router and you would need to know the external ip address of your home internet.

If you have any specific questions it is better to email us directly to: [email protected]

Many thanks,
Matt
