Can Airnav comment on why some logo's appear and others do not?

I have been quite perplexed about this issue for some time now and I do not understand...

I thought that a logo would be displayed as long as it is in the logo folder and has a flight ID attached to it.

A few cases in point...  I just had flight ID CFBEM come up with no logo...It belongs to Skyservice so I renamed the current Skyservice logo to CFBEM.BMP, restarted my PC and it displayed the logo no problem. 

I had another Skyservice plane come up with a flight ID of "P900FN1"..now I do realize this is a non conventional flight ID, however, I remamed the skyservice logo to "P900FN1.BMP" rebooted the PC and to my surprise, NO logo was displayed.

The other flight ID I have been having trouble with is "N917FE"  No matter what I do/try, I cannot get it to display a logo..  In this case "Morningstar Air Express".

The only thing I can comment on is that neither P900FN1 nor N917FE have ever shown up as flight ID's on the network whereas C-FBEM has.  To help those trying to assist it would be helpful if you could identify the aircraft in question either by using its hex or its registration.  Can you advise either for P900FN1 and have you tried to attach the logo to C-FXEH he correct identity of the aircraft you identify as N917FE.

Are you only having issues with flight ids/logos over 5 letters long?

I wouldnt think that over 5 is a problem as there are a large number of flight ID's of 6 letters/numbers long happily displaying a logo.  For example lots of airline flight ID's are a combination of six and a large percentage of N registered aircraft are 6 long

Ok, here is what I noticed...The flight ID's N917FE and P900FN1 for example, which were in "my flights" last night, do not exist anywhere in "my log" when I do a search?

Registration = "N917FE" I get no entries.   I thought my log was populated as soon as new aircraft appear?

I am sure this has something to do with the logo's not displaying??

Ok, I guess I do not understand how My Logs work..
I just tried looking up BWA611 which is currently in my flights...and it does not show up in my log either...

Registration = "BWA611"


I guess I am doing something wrong????

Jason,

Those are flight ID's not registrations,  N917FE is not the aircraft real identity it is showing the old idenity of the aircraft on its transponder from its previous life, it is now C-FXEH as detailed previously.  Similarly for BWA611 that is its flight ID not its registration.  You cannot search using flight ID in myflights

You will need to search using the registration of the aircraft in mylog.  It would help you if you had the registration showing on the grid.

Some Logos not being displayed -
System - Win Vista, Radarbox 3.13, Advent 9517 laptop, 2gb RAM, Centro Duo 1.5Ghz (T5250).
Logo's directory contains 5440 files

SHT6R - flight details (route) shown, no logo... - logo for SHT in directory
SHT17Z - Similar details, problem.
KLM29L - Similar details, problem.
EZT10PA - details and logo  -  thought the problem could be last characters Alpha until this one!!! - using EZT logo
WZZ6KC - flight details (Route) shown, no logo... - logo for WZZ in directory

Any ideas please

I think the logo logic was different in 3.13 from later versions (I can't remember when it was changed).

I suggest you upgrade to a later version of RadarBox - those logos should then shpw up.

Updated to 4.03, to avoid the database encryption at present - no changes...

4.03 and 3.13 are the same except for 3D so no upgrade their.

Using 4.03 isnt an upgrade its just 3.13 with 3D capablity so what problems you get in one you will get in the other.

You would appear from your comments to be a long term user of RB so why this has just suddenly started to affect you I am at a loss to explain.  Some of these come over me and I didnt have any problems with them showing with the older versions when I had them installed.  My only suggestion is that it could be a windows virtual store problems with you having installed to the default program files location which should be avoided.  Try uninstalling and reinstalling to somewhere like C:\Airnav and see if that makes a difference for you.
