New V5 crashing
« on: January 12, 2014, 08:30:15 PM »
Hi,
Just downloaded with no problems however has froze twice now as in as many minutes with the following error message :
Access violation at address 0054312C in module "ANRB.exe". Read of address 00000197.
Any experts out there ?
Didn't have any problems with older version and did a full delete and new full install.
Mike.

Was that V5.00.65 you downloaded Mike as I havent heard of that since the first beta?

Is that the 32bit or 64 bit Windows 7?

I presume you downloaded and installed the 64 bit drivers?

No as long as you had them installed that will be OK

I will advise Airnav of your problem.

Mike,  I dont know about your computer skills but as you appear to be the only person having this problem, the developers asks if you could run dbwin32and then start RB.  dbwin32 is available here http://grantschenck.tripod.com/dbwinv2.htm and will og what is happening when RB is running.  If you can save the log of the crash and post on it would be appreciated.  If you do not feel capable no worries.

Failing that Mike, a copy of the Eureka log for the crash would greatly assist.

Hi,
Sorry been busy at work, looked at the dbwin 32 and doesn't mention windows 7.
Means nothing to me so what will this do when the RB is running then crashes ?

If it is running at the time it tells the developer what RB is doing at that time and points to what went wrong and where.

Its not easy diagnosing what has went wrong when only one person appears to be having a problem as no one else has reported the issue.

I know it works with Windows 7 64 bit as I use it myself to send to the log to the developer when we are dealing with particular issues.

If you dont feel comfortable with it we can still use the Windows Eureka log which comes up via the error message when something crashes.

Could i also suggest that you download and install again just in case something didnt work right the first time.
