Database updates
« on: October 23, 2013, 09:20:17 AM »
Hi all,

Why is it that aircraft that are manually updated and added to the database yesterday are not even in the database today.
The database is set to not overwrite manually changed records.

Thanks

The only thing I can suggest that they were not saved correctly.  If you have added something to your local Navdata and we dont have it in the database and you have got it marked to ignore manually changed records I cannot see that an update can change what it doesnt have details on.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I think I may have the answer, I have just updated a record today and didn't see the that right at the end of the record is a box "Autoupdate Y/No".
I have altered this to no and will check tomorrow.

Hi,

Tried to update the database but with a N in the Autoupdate but this has still been overwritten and all my entries amended.
Can you please enlighten me on the correct proceedure so that it can be resolved as there is either a glitch in the programme or its my ineptness.

Thanks Dunc

Dunc,

On the database updater there is also a tick box for Do Not Update Manually Changed Records, the N only tells the system that this is a manually changed record.

An alternative is to pass me the datails of the aircraft that I dont have in the database and I can have them included but if you dont want to share them no worries

Yep seen that and amended the Y to N makes no difference.

Database not set to update records automatically yet still will not save any amendments you make.

Dunc, this has definitely been tested, and as long as AUTOUPDATE on the aircraft record is "N", it never gets updated.  Maybe you can describe exactly what you're doing, so we can understand what might be going wrong.

Dunc,

Once you have made your entry and changed Y to N did you click somewhere on the grid to set the N entry?

Hi Tarbat,

Preferences- Radarbox- Auto populate aircraft data -OFF (Unticked) , Auto update manually changed records- OFF  (Unticked)

Database explorer- Do not update manually changed records- selected

Aircraft Details amended and in the last box AUTOUPDATE- N

Click in another box to confirm entry

Database explorer then closed but as soon as Radarbox closes and then opened again all details revert back to original details

Hi Guys,

Sorry to be a pain but any updates I make are still not saved in the database after I log off and then back in.

If I wanted to make the following detail changes can you please give me a step by step guide on how to do it.

eg. AE071C is a USAF F-15

If I wanted to record it in database as follows

AT= F-15 /  AN= McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle / AC= USAF- RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk

What would be the correct proceedure and settings

Thanks in anticipation

Dunc
