Hi Alan,

I believe the Diamond HEX is the hex out of factory and HS owner hasn't recode to TH hex.  I think we should get that as VARIOUS and hope that owner of BAJ will recode it some day.

For the serial, I didn't know that there was an agreed format on which to choose.  Just in my common sense to use Serial instead of RTAF serial (Lxx-yy/zz)  since the serial is painted in Arabic number and easily seen from afar while RTAF serial always paint in Thai number not more than 5cm tall.  And I think both are legitimate (please see the pdf link of s/n and RTAF s/n).

http://www.malaysianwings.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=11401  Try to find an RTAF Serial
http://www.thai-aviation.net/files/Air_Force_Detail.pdf

I don't want to customized my db since it will be replaced every months anyway.  Probably this feature will be available on 4.04.

Regards,

Hi Kenny,

44019F  is the allocated hex of OE-UHK Hoffman HK-36TC Super Dimona, I would suggest you update your d/b to the miscode or alternatively I will update the registration to read as VARIOUS and add the details of the aircraft using the hex code in the CO field.  This is an unfortunate consequence of miscoding aircraft.

We use the allocated serial for each aircraft.  I would suggest that it you prefer to use the tail number/fleet number instead of the allocated serial that you update your own database accordingly.  881C63 is in the d/b as L16-03/52 and 881C62 has now been added as L16-04/52

Following consultation with forum members when we started out on the database excercise we have standardised on using the country - service for military aircraft worldwide for the CO field i.e UK - Air Force instead of UK - Royal Air Force.  As before if you prefer to change from our agreed standardisation I would suggest you update your own database accordingly.

Many thanks for the route updates

508188 UR-DND  B735 WFU Stored, is now UR-GBC with Ukraine International & in service into LGW (EGKK) last night.

Also CN-RNP used 020000 on its outbound leg from Heathrow last night, but unsure if a one-off or a long term mis-code

Hi Paul,

Thanks again, noted 020000 on mode-s, will keep an eye on it to make sure its not a one off although the hex was first seen on the network 27/01/11.

Hi Niklas,

Caused a bit of confusion that one as it was reported as NTU by Nordwind so I guess they have sorted their problems.

Hi Kenny,

Although the document you linked gives the numbers you are refering to as its serial, i.e. 60101, it is in fact its squadron code. Mostly a five-digit number is used in which the first three digits indicate the squadron the aircraft is flying for and the last two indicate a unique number within the squadron.  This code is not unique for a single aircraft.  The unique identifier for the aircraft is the one detailed as RTAF serial and as you state the unique serial is written in the Thai language although in publications such as databases, the digits are written Roman style.
