Thanks for the kind words Juan - that screen is my normal working set up.

One small correction - it's not a home brew. I bought the antenna from a local shop (about 50 euros) and put it on the roof. I used the shortest possible aerial cable into the loft where the box is kept then a very long USB down into the house and the PC.

I'm pleased with the range. particularly as I am very close to sea level in altitude and smack in the middle of the country, but that polar diagram is the product of two years tracking!!

Hi , I am using a homemade collinear from here http://tech-software.net/1090_ant_02.JPG
It is connected to radarbox with 10 mtrs of heliax.  I am elevated about 180 mtrs asl and 1 km from the water.  With this I can receive over 300nm ( 500km ) towards the Australian mainland

Hi guys, here's mine, with a totally bog-standard supplied antenna that I've waterproofed and mounted outside - height approx 215' asl, the sea being approx 100 yds to my west.   The severe cut off to the east is due to our roof's gable ridge, which hopefully be overcome when we alter our roof - if Planning permits.   The cut out in the sw is due to the prescence of a building - the Mullion Cove Hotel!   Again I'll hopefully be able to "see" over the top to the true horizon, when I can mount a Diamond Radar Extender and an SSE 1090SJ outside and 10 - 12 feet higher.
