Hi Everyone,
I have had Radarbox for three weeks now and have never received one single live flight.Network flights are no problem,I can receive hundreds.
A few details,
Power light always green, usb flashes approx one time per second, white signal light has never once lit up.
Hardware Connected box always green.
Get hardware flights box is ticked.
Radarbox delivered with version 1.3,have upgraded to 1.5. but still nothing in myflights.
Firmware 1.01.2
Driver 2.2.4.0
Windows xp
The antenna is on my balcony (20metres high) facing EHAM 25 km away.I can see aircraft turning base to land and some takeoff`s come over my location.Today I took Radarbox to work and installed on my computer there.Antenna on the roof,20 km from EHAM and on an approach path.Did not get one single live flight.Anyone got any thoughts.

Sounds to me as if you don't have the USB drivers installed for RadarBox,

Either that, or there is a problem with your antenna, or the connection to the antenna connector inside RadarBox.

Have you read the Hardware guide in detail in the PDF Manual and the help file?  This tells you exactly what the different lights mean.

Also, see  the section on installing the Radarbox drivers.

AirNav Support

Have you tried with the default antenna which comes with RadarBox if it does not pick up anything either then contact support via email and we can arrange a RTB.

Hello,

Ain't 100% sure, but I remeber I've read somewhere either here on the forum
or in the manual(pdf) that the blue led flashing only once every second is
indicating a bad USB connection - some others may correct me if I'm wrong.

Marinus.

AirNav Support

That is correct but he has mentioned the driver details correctly above.

I have checked the driver via Device Manager ect and everything is the same as in the PDF Manual.Driver 2.2.4.0 .Also under the General tab I have  Use this device (enable).I am using the original RadarBox antenna,I tried another one using an SMA/bnc converter but still no joy.I will contact support and see what they say.
Many Thanks

Hi Golfboy,

I had a similar problem to this when I first got my Airnav Radarbox and I initially thought it was the USB drivers. But after checking everything I concluded this was not the case.

Instead it was a firmware issue with the box. I think somehow it was corrupted. After downloading the firmware updater off Airnavs webpage and running it, it worked a treat I was picking up lots of flights.

Could be a similar issue maybe support can comment?

All the best

Edwards

AirNav Support

Please do NOT use the firmware upgrade if you are already on 1.3 which any RadarBox bought now will be.

You run the risk of damaging your RadarBox if you do that as its already upgraded.

Where is the FW version info available? I've tried to upgrade with no other messages than opening box or closing box... Later I'll try again to rcveive signals on the roof.

Thanks!

Hello Thundershead,

Goto > Help > About....  the bottom line should state your firmware
                                    version  (1.01.2 the most recent)

Regards,

Marinus.

Thanks Marinus!

Well, I've founded that info but...the field is empty!

I've tried on several computers and OS, and is not working!

Thanks! I'll write to support guys!

If the field is empty, then it means that your RadarBox is not connected to your PC.  There are a number of reasons why this might be the case:

- USB drivers are not installed correctly

- USB cable is damaged or is the wrong cable (are you using the cable supplied by AirNav?)

- The Radarbox is broken

The most likely of these is the USB drivers.  Can you see AirNav RadarBox in the Windows Device Manager under Universal Serial Bus controllers.  Have you read the PDF manual carefully regarding USB driver installation? Pages 79 and 80 are the ones you need.

Hello
I appear to have the same problem. No version in the firmware field and no track.
The radarbox however appears in the Device Manager. Blue light blinks once per second. Driver version is 2.0.0.0.0 dating from 2006. I saw a newer version mentioned in the manual but was unable to find it in the ANRB15 download.
I really suspect the software install as when I tried the box with the provided CD, I tracked one flight. It is when I updated to v14 and v15 that problems started.

The V1.5 drivers come with the V1.5 installation exe.  You can find them in:

C:/Programe Files/AirNav Systems/AirNav RadarBox 2008/Drivers

Bring up the properties of the V2.0.0.0 driver you can see in Device Manager. Select "Update Driver" and make sure you point manually to the 2008 drivers in the above directory as you go through the update.

Don't let Windows do the update automatically, and don't let it search the Internet for a driver!
