We are aware of that. Sync will be done only after user confirmation.

I am sure an acceptable compromise to your original idea would be to sync the aircraft table only and leave the others well alone.

This looks a popular request as only a few users have said the aircraft database is not for them, is this to difficult?  I am happy with your suggestion in having an additional field but in the file preferences and not in the database as you quoted.

Question to RadarBox Users on Database Editing
« Reply #17 on: October 22, 2012, 04:39:20 PM »
Has anyone got an idea of the size of databases we are talking about?

I think the issue of bandwidth needs to be considered as well because if the db updates are large it will be of no use to me as I am often limited by this aspect.

Maybe consider a separate module that runs the download and sync without Radarbox having to run? I again would be hesitant to run Radarbox knowing that a sync would happen even though I might have deselected the option.

To me the issue of the "share network data" ticked as the default is of concern to some users and this db sync option should not go the same way.

Please make sure that we can choose which tables should be updated, too. Some people want to preserve their own routes or aircraft, I want to preserve my airlines!

As so many others have said,  this facility is absolutely key to whatever system is introduced.

I agree with Rod on this one.

Hi,

May be that is strange for most of us but there are still places with no permanent internet connection. I live in one of them. So for me the best solution is a manual sync/update of a new data one a week or so.
