Paul,

If there was only the updated Navdata on the computer it would be being read correctly, there must be another on there if only 80,000 codes are being read.  If all the original files had been deleted there would only be the updated on there, hence my suggestion to carry out a windows search for Navdata.db3 files.

Carrying out a de-installation using the Windows control panel does not remove all files and normally leaves the original Navdata.Db3 file among others.

Alan

as per my previous post we did a search for the Navdata file - it came up with 4. 2 of these were the downloaded update and the other 2 were from the cd installation and were removed. I have seen mention of the 'virtual store' - could something be in there that the search is not finding? As I only use XP the inner workings of windows 7 are all new to me.

Choose the menu item "File" then "Database Explorer"

On the Database Explorer window select the "aircraft" table from the drop down list.

At the bottom of the Database Explorer window is the number of rows (MS codes).

Hi Andrew, many thanks for that, mine is showing "80891 rows loaded in 170ms", so I assume my DB isn't updated, despite me downloading .db3 - 21120424 and then going through the Install process.

Paul,

A windows search will pick up any in the store. so no worries

What is the path of the Airnav you are using.  I presume you have it installed to the default location in program files, this will give problems with the virtual store. Wherever you have installed radarbox to you should install the update to.  As you look as if you have installed to the defaul location I presume it will be c:programfiles\Airnav Systems\Radarbox.  You should therefore install the update to there as well, do not go any further and put it in Data as the installer does that, only go as far as Airnav Systems\Radarbox.

To avoid the virtual store problems my preferred option would be to de-install what you already have using Control Panel then do a munaul search and delete all the remaining Airnav folders you would find.

I would the re-install to somewhere like C:\Airnav Systems and once installed use the Navdata update installer to install to that location.

John,

That will be the case your system is still using the old Navdata as the one you installed has not went into the Data folder.

Use the info provided previously to search for it and move it to the correct data folder replacing the one already there.

Hi Alan, thanks for that - I've been trying to download and install to C:\AirNav Systems\AirNav RadarBox\Data, but have just tried C:\AirNav Systems\AirNav RadarBox without the \Data, lo and behold, I now have "157283 rows downloaded in 398 ms" so seem to now have the updated DB file installed.   It would appear that directing the download to the \Data file is what was causing my problem.   Hope this helps anyone else having a similar problem.

Managed to delete the vitual store ones and run in the update. However the total I get is still only 136K - any ideas as to why when others report that 157K is the expected total after this update?  Is it possible that an earlier update needed to be loaded before or is this one a total replacement of the navdata file?

Lionel,

Each Navdata update replaces all before.

136K was an earlier update, did you run the one at the start of this thread?

AV61,
To be safe goto MyLog and export to CSV. Not sure how you can import it again though as the import option is from SQB. You could also make a copy the mylog.db files to make a backup. These are located in the Data folder eg: C:\AirNav RadarBox\Data for me.
