Hi dave
I am not local to either the hall or the heath.

I have though visited the hall in the last few months before venturing to other places.

If you want to spend a short time i would go to http://www.thenookcampsite.co.uk/.

You can see across Mildenhall and get good photos of landing or takeoff depending on the wind and if the wind is in the right direction see F15s landing at Lakenheath.

Its only a small cost for parking but is safe and has toilets. Just fill out the paper with your car reg and place it plus your money into the plastic bag and then into the box.

As for a cuppa i always take my own in a flask but you probably pass through the town anyway but i have never looked for a cafe.

Depends what you want to watch and do, spot photo etc.

The 'Hall can be slow if no movements, but can have much more intersting visitors.  The 'heath can be busier if the F-15s are flying.

The campsite above, also known as John's field is the good for the 'Hall. Costs a pound for the day.  With toilet facilities.  Where I go if staying for the day at the 'hall.  Convienent trailer in the field to photo over the fence.

Lakenheath has a dedicated viewing carpark at the end of the runway.  Good for spotting and s-mode but you would have to walk abit if taking photos as you would face the sun if you stayed here.
