Alerts Menu "Execute a File" option
« on: January 18, 2012, 02:33:11 PM »
The above topic does not appear in any of the documentation I have. I am trying to find out what data an executable file could extract about alerts and what location and format it would need to address.

Of course, I may have guessed to purpose wrongly as well!

Can anyone help please.

I don't think an executable file can extract any details about an alert, it just runs the executable.  Not something I've ever used, but others asked for it to be added as a feature back in v1.4 I think.

So, you could for example, increment a count of the number of alerts and record the time of each, but not what was in them....

Thank you for your reply. I was hoping for some useful functionality, but at least I can stop looking for it here.
