ACARS / Biz Jets
« on: January 07, 2012, 12:44:25 AM »
I appreciate there are a number of ACARs frequencies in Europe.

Which ones do business jets normally use since they don't have their own staff on the ground to talk to like an airline does? Is it the SITA or AIRINC European channels or do they use European primary 131.725mhz?

When a non European biz jet (e.g. US) comes into European airspace, which ACARS frequency will it use? Does it tune automatically or does the pilot have to manually pick a European ACARS frequency?

Thanks

Hi

Hoff12

I may be of some help a bit.  When I worked in FLS Maintrol our Sita address was STN7LN.  LN being for line.  Any aircraft that wanted to send us a message used that address.

The A320 had 3 VHF set if ACARS was fitted.  Insead of selecting a frequency you could select ACARS.
