Silly question possibly but I am new
Does my database update itself automatically including these individual requests that people have asked for or am I supposed to do something myself .
Also if it is automatic do I need to connect to anything in particular?
Apologies if this is a daft question but as they say if you dont ask....
Thanks
Nick

Hi AV61,

No the updates are not automatic and have to be inserted manually.  You can do this by clicking on an unknown aircraft and if its in the d/b its details will be downloaded.  if they are not they can be added manually through database explorer.

To do this click file, database explorer, top line of pop up box, selct table change to aircraft, then click Show All then Add Record, abox will be open type in the hex, then click on the next box, click edit cell and type in the registration and so on along the line.  When finished click anywhere on the grid to save.  When complete you can come out of database explorer.

Another way but not very good is click My log on the line above the map, then Tools, and Populate and OK and if you have picked up an unknown which is now in the d/b it should populate d/b explorer.

Hope this helps

Have you downloaded and installed the latest Navdata update from the sticky list at the top of the page?

 Alan

Suspect this might be an unidentified IL76 out of DWC, landed yesterday evening.

PS A few EK02 passengers from LHR last night might have had a surprise when their A388 A6-EDS landed at AAN instead of DXB! The hold was massive and it had to divert along with some others! This is getting a very common occurance arounfd midnight, as the other week I was 1hr 20 minutes in the pattern doing figures of 8 over FJR on a BA lump.

That 8006FA has just gone OTT again VABB to OKBK (same f/n), and I could make out it was NOT a B737 but could not see clearly enough to differentiate whether it was a B738 or a B739 (its dark out here). Is there no one out there in the airnav universe in Kuwait?  Anyway time will tell.
