Link Google to a second PC?
« on: November 02, 2011, 03:23:39 PM »
Can you advise me on how to physically set a second PC to link 3D Google from my main computer.

Do I have to have a modem link with both or is it possible some other way?

I watched the first Video that you suggest and it seems to me that the guy is using a second PC and not a monitor.

Basically I would like the same screen set up found on the link given by yourselves ie: http:youtube.com/watch?v=ZDG5pdv1UWE

I don't believe it is officially supported, but you can setup a "New Network Link" box in Google Earth:
MyFlights - http://localhost:7895/AircraftHW.kmz
Network - http://localhost:7895/Aircraft.kmz

In you case, try substituting "localhost" with the IP address of the main computer.  Let us know if it works.

Hi Tarbet
Followed your instructions.
except not needed to swap IP .

Now technically, using my laptop which allows a vga to monitor not PC.

Therefore google has to be seen in monitor only. Curser on laptop can move across both screens, no need to use another computer. When you use the tool bar on monitor screen to add, the box comes up on the laptop, but with some dragging you can then put in the name etc ie Myflight and then underneath put the link. Do this a second time for Network and then go to Google and put in the Fly to (Your chosen area ie in my case Glasgow airport, press the Places links you have just made and the Networks and thats it.

Thankyou for your help it works great.
