neroon79 & ACW367,

Thank you for the insight.  I have spent an inordinate amount of time in updating my database but find it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain of late due to a change in my circumstances.  I have been following the work by the updaters with interest but was always reluctant to convert.  I think it is time to bite the bullet.

Regards

Keith

Keith, several month ago I was there, were you are now. I had Spend hours to fill my own Database with local airframes. And then it happened: Fatal hardware crash. Databases in use: terminated, Backup on other partition on same HDD: terminated. Unfortunately another quite actual Backup on USB drive was also corrupted. I had to go to a several month old Backup. All work until then: Lost. At this point I decided to take another way: Since then I post all unknowns with details I'm able to dig out to the Updaters. Preceding this way I'm able to get "my" airframes back even if all local back-ups are gone to nirvana.
Greetings from northern Germany, Ingo

Hello neroon79

I know what you mean as it almost happened to me about a year ago.  Luckily my backup was only a few days old and downloading it did the trick.  The truth now is that it was becoming to big to maintain and I only had approximately 86,000 records of which their was still a considerable amount that needed checking.  I downloaded the update yesterday and used it today not that it got much use this far North but I had no problems with those I did manage to pick up.  Thanks again to you and ACW367 for your advice and considerable thanks must go to all the updaters.

Regards

Keith

Thanks Keith.  As we said above, if you find anything on any aircraft record that you feel needs changing, let us know via the database update requests thread or the via PM and we will quickly look at them for you.

Hi ACW367

I have been monotoring a number of unidentified aircraft in mylog and spent a good hour or so trying to fill in the missing details.  The results have now been posted on the update tread.  Also working on a few more but finding them a little more difficult. I will keep trying but may have to call on you at some point.

Thanks again.

Keith

If you post the remaining blanks that you have in the update forum, we will be able to assist you in the search for tie-ups.  As you can see from that thread, with regards to the German GA aircraft, it often takes the mark one eyeball of the people in Germany to identify the aircraft.  If we can also find nothing from the various places we look through, we will let you know.
