Hello Nigel,
On my netbook if I press CTRL & ALT together, hold them both down at the same time
and then press the arrow at the bottom of the computer on the right hand side it turns
the preferences page to a different angle, its not ideal and can be quite difficult to move
the cursor but at least you can see the apply and ok buttons.
Its not ideal and I am sure there is probably a better easier way but at least it works
for me.
