On the move...
« on: April 13, 2011, 05:27:57 PM »
Hi guys,

I was just wondering. say i had the ariel on top of my car roof on a side road at heathrow airport. would i be able to drive around the airport to see the planes and the radar to keep track of my location all the way or would it stay in the place i was first at before i set off?

Thanks,
Jamie

no problem, i drive around all the time with the ariel on the roof when i'm spotting at Zaventem, always there where it is supposed to be ;-)

so would the radarbox track that i am on the move around the airpot because surely the radar would stay in the same place as i programmed it to first. say the first place i started at at heathrow?

The location you put in would stay the same until you changed it.  You will not be tracked.

Jimjam The box is purely a reciever, not a broadcaster.  That would require seperate tech like a GPS or tracker.  It just like you cannot track the location of radio scanners, there is nothing in the box to track.
